Condolences Big Al on losing your wife , & I hope you're coping it can't be easy . Regarding your question wether it's ok to play MP3 , or Laptop out and about on the Northern scene as it is , I would say no . If however in a local pub , party, celebration, etc I don't think anyone would care , unless requested otherwise by the host.. I understand your point regarding all the emidiscs ,not acetates played at venues like WC etc , in years gone past, but the purists wouldn't and shouldn't have to listen to a totally bootlegged format either, hopefully those nights are gone forever . An MP3 only release cut to a carver or emidisc , or even a cd only track is a tricky one , otherwise how would it get a play if at all in today's venues , still a bootleg , or cheating ? During Lockdown there was a fear that we wouldn't ever get the chance to hear soul music played , at venues on vinyl again , now we have let's make the most of it , while we can .

Works out at £13.15 each , give or take a percentage point , hardly worth hanging on to them for so long , as you say probably be better splitting them up , shame really ( less 20% ) more like £10.52 each , some ones done well out of it.

Can't imagine another box set of tracks on 45 for the first time in the near future but there have been a few out via expansion , Ozone recently , Passion Soul Essentials , Brenda Holloway, The Temptations, and The Deptford Northern Soul Club , ( I know the Isleys was a previous 45 ) to name a few , so there's hope yet . Still hoping that one day the Ivy Joe Hunter unreleased album finally gets released and then we might get more of his 45s to follow ,

I meant the pressing as the bootleg of Canadian origin , not the recording .I think a slight confusion, I said one seller on eBay claimed pressing of Canadian origin , another on Google says Sonic Wax .

I had the chance to play all these tracks today , whilst out hunting in Mr Tees in Kidderminster, on a Dutch Album of The Manhattans greatest hits , and to be honest after reading these posts they do sound dated especially "Shining Star " , and with the wonders of a good mixing deck and production team anything could be possible , even in the mid 70s to the 80s .

What ever your reason's are for hijacking Soul Directions, back story on the history regarding their latest release , at least they make sure their customers are happy , why not just contact them privately to pass on the info , I don't get it sorry .

Early 80s , with my mate Rich we set off from Brighton, Sussex to go to Slough , Im pretty sure it was a new Alnighter probably one of Dave Thorleys , anyway we where travelling in my old Bedford work van , overheated twice on the journey up , each time resulting in a break to allow cooling down of radiator, luckily had a container of water in the back , after 5 hrs get to Slough only to find a few hopefuls and the All-Nighter was cancelled. Set off home got about a third of the way back and this time bang , in the middle of nowhere, no choice but to have a rest , wait for daylight find a telephone box ring the AA , who on arrival takes one look , and calls for a breakdown truck to complete the journey home a round trip of some 16 or so hrs and to rub salt into the wounds the van was written off and scrapped ,too old and too expensive to repair , so I had to buy another .

Superb , keep em coming , with the YouTube links , somebody in charge of the Motown catalogue might just stumble across this topic & realize what they've already missed and deserves a 45 release, without digging into the cellar .
