I know we all assumed at the time of release, that the Soulfox releases where boots , but I'm sure someone on here said they where Legitimate , we all know Simon Soussan was behind them , so the jury may still be contemplating on that , for legal reasons ?
  2. Thanks Mark , I know we had picture sleeves in the UK but they where mainly on special Eps , not on the every day releases as was the case all over the world , we seemed to have had mostly company sleeves , can anyone shed some light on this ?
  3. Yes I sent another message this morning at 7-30 am , confirming what you have just wrote , and he didn't respond verbally but glad he got the message, nothing nasty just pointed out the facts and that I thought he was a chancer .
  4. Another purchase delivered next day , how do they do it ? Soul Source up there with the best Top Sellers .
  5. Why oh why didn't we get more of these picture sleeves in the UK , the sleeves alone would make a wonderful subject for a book , the Girls look fabulous. Next project Mark ? I'll take the Supremes , You Keep Me Hanging On , if you've still got it Mark .
  6. 1st response , And ?? Take a look at the photo attached this sold yesterday for over £400 I started mine a lot lower than that AND TRY TAKING A LOOK I'VE ADDED TO THE DESCRIPTION THAT ITS A 70'S REISSUE BUT THEN ANYONE BIDDING ON IT WILL KNOW THAT WITHOUT YOU INPUT !!!!! .end Quote 2nd response , Shows how much you know ! Discogs as this listed at £800 , this copy as sold for £400 3 times in last 12 months , the original sold for £880 last year , I actually didn't know about the big 45 until mentioned it , by the way I paid £200 for this so it's worth what I've got it listed for .end quote So he bought it for to much so that justifies his starting price simple really .
  7. Just sent him a message, I'll wait and see if he responds
  8. Oh good I thought I was in the naughty corner lol..
  9. I'm guessing a breaking of site rules , sorry Mike
  10. Yes you're last paragraph nails it , people miss out and then you see them advertising in the wants section , even though it's been featured
  11. If the management of the WC had been on the ball ( so to speak ) they could have approached Coca Cola & SkF for sponsorship , imagine that ,
  12. 2 likes and no comments, seems to be the norm whenever a new release is mentioned, unless nobody likes it , is it possibly because if people comment on them and like them , they might draw more attention and they're no more under the radar ? . Great work again Yann , wonderful release, and yes mine's pre ordered , isn't this what this sites all about ?
  13. 45 yrs ago I saw Tommy Hunt at the WC , he was in top form , a year later 76" Loving On The Losing Side" went down a storm , 28 yrs later Kings Hall , Stoke, Wigan 30 , and things weren't the same , struggling to remember the lyrics , microphone aimed at the audience for help , that was for me personally a very sad and emotional experience. Age had caught up with another one of our heroes and I vowed never again , listen to the vinyl , maybe a tad to early but so many of the artists have either , forgotten, or need to be reminded of the flops they recorded all those years ago , and probably don't want to come out of retirement to be reminded. Here's my list of possibles, who between them , with a half decent Orchestra ( BBC concert perhaps ) may be able to sell a few tickets if they're not preoccupied, Eli " paperboy" Reed , Xiantori Ari , Kenny Thomas , Kim Tibbs , Jalen N Gonda , No pressure Stuart
  14. A long time ago following a conversation with a very well loved Promoter of the longest running Alnighter in the UK , deejay , popular record label contributer ( if that's the right title for him ) I find myself agreeing with him , anything beginning with The . And that's just for starters 😜

  16. Levelling things up , staying in the piano room , available now on the BBC iPlayer channel Jalen Ngonda with full orchestra , for those that may have missed it worth a watch .
  17. Strange thing around the time 92ish when Charles & Eddie , Would I Lie To You , was released I can remember a conversation I had with the late Francis Terry Thomas RIP , and he said " one day this will get a spin on the Northern scene , bloody great record " . As anybody ever played it out ?

Have searched and can't find if this topic has been done before, and this is not a complaint aimed at record dealers , but why in this day and age are the U.S. imports still sold in sleeves that do not completely cover & protect the playing surface, for the sake of .5 mm of paper it cant be cost cutting , surely the record when limited issue should be in a sleeve made for the purpose , to protect the product . Maybe nostalgia ?
  21. I can definitely remember attending, one of the few Alnighters that my brother came with me , all the way from Brighton, when the trains where affordable, I'm sure I sold Adam after twisting his arm to play it ,Gwen McCrea , The Melody Of Life ,Cat 12" from my sales box , fantastic night and great atmosphere.
  22. Was it ever released ? or just a demo , I'm with you on this one sure I heard it years ago , wonderful . The Staples not to shabby either you can definitely hear Curtis Mayfield's magic touch on this one .
  23. Cheers Zanetti , much appreciated 👍
