Thanks for the upload but although it has fever in the title it's not this one , the one I found is just called , Fever , strange I know but even discogs didn't have it listed until I did a full research , but still couldn't find an upload . The one I found is , Joe Anderson , Fever , Buddah , BDA 454 , 1975 , same both sides / stereo / mono, It's only listed at about 3$ , but worth every dime , it was in a sleeve with Symarip, Skinhead Moonstomp A side funnely enough , and was sat in a box listed S , Decently not shite .

And Chicago , no copies currently available but I bet they will be tomorrow !!!! Great tune

Surely this is the type of sounds we should be talking about ,,,, The Four Thoughts , Kisses & Roses very Ethics style of tune , but like most of the Ethics , albeit great dancers , won't take off for about 25 yrs. , hope I'm wrong , wonderful find , cheers Kitch

Very true but there's an awful lot of 60s tunes not at the time associated with any scene but popular music , are very saught after amongst UK collectors , willing to pay top dollar for nothing more than cover versions , who where trying to cash in at the time due to the popularity of the underground RnB Clubs of the era , too many to mention , but I'm sure with a little research the list is endless.

Hi Chalky , Isn't it just history repeating itself ?, Nosmo King & the Javelle's , Sharonettes , L.J.Johnson ,Wigan's Chosen Few , etc etc & it just happens to be the 50th anniversary of the most famous disco of all time , it was bound to happen , it'll all be over soon and things will get back to where they where in the 80s , or will these be the UK collectors must haves in years to come ? The strange thing is though when the above where the big tunes , the dance floor was rammed but turnover was very quick , and it was all orchestrated, behind the scenes weekly meetings on what was or wasn't going to get a spin . The gear might have been better but the desire to dance all night was even greater , as we've got older and wiser we tend to dismiss this as shite but to a 16 yr. old , experimenting as we did it's new, fresh , and probably affordable.

Nostalgia that's what it's all about and we all have our own favourite thing. Regarding CDs from the early days I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole , then after a very informative chat at an Alnighter with a very popular DJ , who at the time was working for a famous household name in popular music, told me how they used to use VHS recorders to record the masters , because it automatically digitally recorded the sound making it the perfect listen , I dipped my toe into the water as they say and couldn't believe the sound quality . I know own about 3k of the buggers but still continue to purchase vinyl mostly for nostalgic reasons, unless new releases but the sound quality on a few of the new releases does vary in depth and volume and find the need to adjust both volume and gain on my Citronic mixer at times annoying. It may be my set up but there doesn't seem to be a problem on the older vinyl and definitely not all of the new releases . So for the perfect sound with a boom , I'd say CDs , Vinyl , then Cassettes, but I'll never stop buying vinyl , and only listen to CDs in my VW when out and about ( radio packed up ) .

When I was a youth about 11 yrs old , we as a family Mum ,Dad & 3 siblings , use to own a caravan on a holiday park just out of Blackpool, Windy Harbour Holiday Park , which had a club house and a Saturday night disco , anyway my Dad would never dance with my Mum until he was 3 sheets to the wind , so my Mum who was a very keen dancer used to drag me to the dance floor , at first it was awkward but once she showed me a few steps I just found it natural & of course totally sober. At the age of about 12 started going to local youth clubs back home and had no idea what Northern Soul was , just a lot of sounds that sounded like Motown when the local mobile DJ turned up about every couple of weeks, I use to get up and dance and watch the older guys and slowly found my way around the floor , a lot of shuffling side to side whenever tunes like Willie Tee ,Walking Up A One Way Street was played , and a lot of dance floor was required, still in-between holidays with my family and I actually used to look forward to my Mum dragging me up to the dance floor , so I could show off my new dancing skills , until my old man found his dancing shoes usually at the bottom of a pint glass and not long before the smooch . By the time I was 14 we moved and I soon made mates and and now our local youth club had a bonafide Northern Soul DJ , who had been to the Wheel ,The Impressions , The Dells , Freddie Chevez you name it he had it and I suppose that was the beginning of my Northern Soul Dancing yrs in 71. So by the time I went to my first Alnighter in 72 The Vavas aged 15 with my cousin who told me not to worry I'll get you in , he'd been before , I just kinda blended in . So in a way I guess I've got my mum to thank for first dragging me to the floor , no beer necessary , and my cousin for showing me how to do it all night with a little chemical assistance .

I know I've mentioned this before on here but feel , after some research that I may have given the Oldies Alnighter' s at The Casino a bad name and wish to apologise . The Alnighter wasn't the Oldies the night before the 3rd Anniversary is was " By Popular Demand " a new Friday Alnighter in Mr Ms featuring Soul Sam ,John Vincent and guests ( I'm sure Richard , Keith M. and more than likely Kenny S. because he provided the equipment for Ms usually) but can't remember the exact line up . I can definitely remember the journey from North Wales , buzzing and looking forward to a warm up prior to the real thing on the day after on the Saturday, 15 mins in 3 punters full of chemical assistance and Mike Walker came running in from the entrance, opposite end to the stage full of djs , arms flaying all over place shouting "shut it down guys , new it wouldn't work " and stopped the whole thing , Returned our entry fees etc and kicked us out on the streets of Wigan , off our heads , funny now but very pissed at the time . Having recovered then managed a clean up at the baths , refreshed and off to the 3rd Anniversary and had a great time the following night . Don't know if anyone else still alive can remember or even want to admit "That By Popular Demand" wasn't a Friday night success that particular night or if there was ever another. The Oldies was the 1st Friday of the month , I never went to one ,

I agree with you totally on the ages going back to the 50s , I was only using this particular tune as an example of flipping both sides , and you could get lucky .My journey into soul started back in 1970 , and then Northern lots of my mates and my cousin useto play all types I suppose now it's Lowrider , but we just called them slowies and would jump at the chance , when at the youth clubs and then onto clubbing from 72 , to ask a young lady would she like to dance ( up close ) of course , anyway enough of that kind of talk too early . I haven't read the book but look forward to it and stand corrected on my choice of title and from now on will call it culture . The irony subject of hijacking , and paying over the odds pushing up prices , disillusioned etc could be as their bank balance's have swollen so much , clearing out their unwanted Northern Soul records that any looney will purchase at over inflated prices these days , check out Manships auction results on a Wednesday evening, so money is no object to them , they just need something to fill the gap left in the record box . I still collect at hopefully affordable and sensible prices and when flipped find a twofer as they call them nowadays , and if one side is uptempo and the other Lowrider I play either side depending on mood etc .

Always played both sides of every record I ever purchased , and this one I came across about 79 ish , don't think Low rider was a genre back then , but over the years I suppose 50% of my collection was a Low rider and on occasion better than the side I bought it for . On reflection I was to busy looking for the unknown 100 mph. stomper , floorfiller , obscurity, in most cases the b- sides and ignoring the most soulful slowies as we called them .Now in the second half of my 60s and my ears and tastes have matured would love to hear more of this style out and about , legs have gone but still got soul in abundance.

Better still if it started on a Friday Night , onto a Saturday Night , Sunday All-dayer and forget all about mums Sunday dinner let the dog have it , back to work Monday, sleep it off by Wednesday phone it sick , local soul night Thursday, and start all over again Friday , wonderful days & nights .

Definitely a must have , especially when the tape gets stuck in the machine , you retrieve it as carefully as possible, a slightly crinkled bit , cut it out carefully then transfer it to a blank tape , listen carefully, rewind and again record button ready hey presto , a completely new remix of Benny Troy with new chorus and slightly longer instrumental break , at the time I thought I was Tom Moulton , played it to a few in the know they loved it , still have it funny enough .

The vast majority don't forget where slimming pills prescribed to overweight neighbours or hyperactive children , great contact and cheaper supplier if you new one 😂 , better than some backstreet powder cut 3 times with anything that looked presentable in a bit of tinfoil , unless you trusted the source .

And just in case you need one in the future , have just found a tape splicer , unfortunately no tape repair strips , but yours if you want it .

I've found a box , neither of the 2 that I mentioned have survived , but The Hits of Edwin Starr has and Casino Classics Chapter Two , have a few more will pm you with the rest , yours if you want them , I don't even own a cassette player any more , a couple still in the celophane wrap lol .

A quick look on eBay ,Edwin Starr, Ben E King , The Motor City ( Ian Levine's versions ) from 98 ? Still for sale , as Solidsoul says , put a request in the wants section , I bet there's members on here with a few willing to let go free to good home , I may still have a few ,Edwin Starr Soulmaster & the cascade various artists one with Sweet Temptation on somewhere , I'll have a search . The problem being is the tapes tend to stick and damage easily if left for years unplayed still it's worth a try
