  1. Is this a download or physical 45 vinyl release at the moment , have searched & can only find a March date for the 45 ?
  2. It's surely all about musical taste & mood , not remotely weak & most would probably have been the A- side when first released , age & maturity of the listener may also play apart too . The Cods , I'm A good Guy great dancer probably played 1st at The Twisted Wheel , nowadays I can quite happily play "Pretty Baby ", lots of records of the same era , the slower side never got a look in and now becoming much harder to own , the strange world of Northern Soul eh
  3. Hi Zanetti x , Have pmd , Dave
  4. I bought a Harold Burrage, Mountain Of Soul , M-pac , supposedly a Charly release last week , for £5.50 clearance sale , arrived in a white sleeve , instead of the usual brown Charly cardboard sleeve , looks exactly the same as a Charly product , good sound quality , looks the same but it looks and feels suspect , maybe I'm just being spooked .
  5. This a copy currently on eBay £ 157. There's a definite difference in the label , and dead wax , but here is the label ,
  6. If it is a boot , there are none doing the rounds , eBay etc , at least not yet !
  7. Thanks Douglaschip for the above post , I didn't watch Top of the Pops , so have never seen that performance. I do recall Jools Holland had a gig I think at the Royal Albert Hall , including Sam , Eddie Floyd , Booker T , & his Orchestra etc , but Sam didn't perform " Plenty Good Lovin " which was a great surprise at the time and disappointing.
  8. This may be affecting one or two here on Soul Source , a terrible disaster with so many consequences loss of everything.
  9. After Tony Ellis , had introduced it to the 6ts crowd , probably Hampstead & the soul nights at Le Papillon in Brighton, where it fitted in nicely , & later on he used to finish off at the 100 club with it & occasionally , and depending on how many where left standing ( in those days it was an 8 am finish ) he had to empty the room , the theme to " Coronation Street" not sure which version , we where gone before the end lol
  10. L.J.Johnson , Your Magic Put A Spell On Me , played at the Casino in 76 ( pretty sure but most Saturday Alnighters becoming a little bit hazy , it's an awful long time ago ) when there was so much animosity towards anything Levine , and it packed the floor at the time , copies on discogs today from .50p
  11. Hi Russ , Have pmd , Dave
  12. So was this Europe's first Lowrider scene , as opposed to the UK's Deep Soul at the time in the 70s ?
  13. Merry Xmas & a Happy & Healthy New year to everyone, thanks to Mike & the admin team for all their hard work, in keeping Source going .
  14. Hope you had a great birthday Wilxy , all the best Dave
  15. Very honest , I was not & wasn't making any derogatory comment regarding the seller , just amazed the record was sold for so much , that's all .
  16. Here's some more pics , from the pre auction description the buyer was fully aware , nothing left to the imagination or nasty shocks later , must have wanted it that's for sure .
  17. Is this the most for a cracked record this week , amazing, great tune but amazing
  18. I'm sure it was featured in a earlier topic , taken at a midweek session at the Casino , maybe a Wednesday night promotion , not at an all nighter , lots of youths standing and watching the dancers , probably a local newspaper feature.
  19. Perhaps we could ask one of these AI wizards , to do a cover of the " Invitations , (changing the title & lyrics to ) "We Don't Allow ( no mobile phones in here ) " got a ring to it don't you think
  20. I suspect Peter it's already happening , you've only got to listen to some of the recent releases on a certain label from deepest Leicestershire , aimed at the dance floor , limited copies making them cherishable , until the next batch is released . Answer don't buy them !!
  21. If memory serves me right The Shepards was played and very popular pre 100 Club at the 6ts soul nights , and then early doors at the 100 Club too . I'm sure someone else must remember
  22. Would copyrights be an issue Mick ?
  23. The Premier League is now 32 years old & the Big European clubs have been discussing a European Super League since 1996, that's 28 years . A hell of a lot of clubs have almost gone bust trying to keep up with the big 6 , they couldn't care less about the rest of the teams in the Premier League or the EFL . At least one club was eventually relegated to the National league. The same problem is as big an issue in Europe , Barcelona & Real Madrid even tried to broadcast their own games to avoid sharing the proceeds with the rest of La Liga , and issues in Italy within the Serie A . I hope it never happens either but it's been bubbling under the surface for a long time now , Greed is the issue.
  24. Your so right Soulandy , & long term it will the Premier League that will disappear, too many games etc , and the clubs who are already involved are complaining of fatigue & injuries. Plus all the International competitions. Years ago it was proposed, albeit as a Blueprint , but that's how these ideas are born . European Super League ( that's if the right clubs finished in the top 4 or 5 , they didn't , but they will one day ) Championship 1 & 2 (made up of clubs with a decent Stadium & Attendances) The rest in a North Division 1 & South Division 1 ( to help and stabilise the lower leagues , more local Derbys less travelling etc ) National League . The European Super League is not going away , just on a back burner for now . Yes the current format is much better for now but it won't be too long though before another takes its place . Enjoy it while you can
