  1. I hope someone can help me out by posting what the Matrix/runout numbers are for the A/B sides of this LP is? Also can you also tell the difference between the re-issue and original due to the sleeves as the one I've found seems too new to be real? Cheers, John
  2. Buy the single and burn it to mp3, then take the single and put in a fire and burn it for real......
  3. I quite like this one https://www.wanker-records.com/
  4. Dont really know where to put this, so mods please put this where it should be..... My wife's uncle has recently died and we're trying to settle his estate as her aunt needs the money. He used to run a mobile disco and most of the stuff's gone but there are 2 Squire XL 200 speakers (with covers) left. I've been trying to see if they're worth anything and was wondering if anyone could guide me to some sort of value or if you're interested in offering a fair price and can pick them up from Orpington, please drop me a pm. Cheers, John
  5. Then you would have to prove that this was indeed a true gift and my view is in post #57
  6. Import VAT is paid on imported gifts that have a value of £36 and above but Import duty is only paid if the gift is greater than £135 https://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/post/buying.htm#4
  7. Kev, Even though it was a gift there was a value of $40 on the docket. Converting that to Sterling @ 1.6 and calculating 20% on that it comes to a fiver. It was below the gift threshold of £40 but must of not looked like a true gift.
  8. When I got charged VAT, the package was also marked as a gift and here's the rub...... When receiving stuff marked as a gift, If customs feel there is a comercial transaction behind the package, they can charge import VAT. You then need to prove to them that: "there is no commercial or trade element and the gift has not been paid for either directly or indirectly by anyone in the UK" So i'd rather pay the VAT than having HMRC going through my eBay/Bank/Paypal details just for them to make an example of me.
  9. VAT is applicable on second hand items. I bought a used record from the states, didn't get hit with a customs charge but got hit with a £5 VAT charge + £8 post office admin fee. https://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/tax-and-duty.htm#3
  10. There's a couple demo's with this layout.
  11. 9 is one of the icons on Gemigo 14 is Jewel Yip. Well Done.
  12. Oh that made me laugh..... For me its the Mad Lads
  13. One Woman Man is a great piece of soul
  14. Would anyone have an idea how much the cost would be to send a job lot of singles through the post to a UK address 10 x 7" 20 x 7" 50 x 7" 100 x 7" Thanks in advance John
  15. His real name is Pearstine Badger and his first recordings were as Mr Percolator. I think Perk’s Badger's got a bit more going for it that either of his other names. Back on track, does anyone know if both releases of Do Your Stuff are the same version on both records (the A-sides)?
  16. I’ve found the issue really hard to get hold of. This was released while Sonny was running “his” version of the Platters and the different Platters factions were fighting for supremacy, so there may have been a lack of promotion.
  17. Theres different versions of Cotillion tracks of The Love Of My Woman and I Wanna Go Home as it's got a talkie bit at the beginning. Harder You Love is a great previously unreleased floater.
  18. All prices include free shipping in the UK and any paypal fees. Any overseas buyers, please ask for postage rates as this is an extra cost. The Artists Vol III (Womack & Womack, O'Jays, SOS Band & Kleer) - UK Street Sounds - Ex+ £7 Randy Brown - Randy - US Choc City - Ex+ £10 Randy Brown - Midnight Desire - UK Casablanca/Pye - Ex+ £10 Randy Brown - Intimately - UK Parachute/Pye - Ex+ £10 Various - Club Reggae - UK Trojan - Ex- some slight crackles, needs a good clean and probably scrub up to a better grade - £15 Please pm me if you're interested.
  19. The thing is with putting a lower price on the customs slip is, if it truly gets lost in transit the seller can't claim the selling price and can only claim from the postal service what they've declared as the value on the slip
  20. Pricy yeah, but international postage is still $7.50.......
  21. With the UK's downgrade over the weekend cable's at its lowest levels since June 2010 adding more pain to UK buyers. I often wonder how much of eBay flow comes to the UK/Europe and how much these postal changes will actually affect US sellers?
  22. Not a dancer, but I think "I know what love is" is a cracking LP only track
  23. Yeah, 3 minutes too long IMO. Thats the problem with a lot of those late 70's early 80's LP's and 12"s they're remixed too long.
