  1. Sounds great, have you included Union of the Snake (The Monkey Mix) from their rare Tiger Tiger Japanese EP? As I wouldnt like to include duplicates in the same swap.
  2. There was a comprehensive discography of his work including his productions/labels in the back of his autobiography which I think Cliff White compiled
  3. Chalky, I'd be more than happy with an anything goes CD and I'm sure the others would have no objections, so please give it a go.Meanwhile must get back to digging through my Nana Mouskouri collection
  4. My thoughts too, was interested early on, when i looked near the end tonight for an extra bid, it was too rich for me. Saying that It is a trophy item and has been on a lot of deep collectors want lists for many years, probably as long as I've been collecting and way before Can You Win was picked up on for the dance floor. Lucky the (cheap) Volt demo has Love Changes. Can You Win was also one of the missing sides when they released the Complete Stax box sets a few years ago.
  5. Put me down, but I'm gonna widen the music genre on mine, been getting into Nickelback recently....
  6. I regularly read the web version of Billboard Magazine and in the R&B section of November 1964, it has it as a "record to watch" and surely at that time apart from DJ's playing it, you couldn't have had a better place to plug a record....
  7. I thought I read somewhere that I'll Go Crazy was released around the time of Tony Ashley's death, so was never promoted. I've also never seen demo's of either I'll Go Crazy or I'm Giving Up, Baby. Do any exist?
  8. 01 Promices Should Never Be Broken.mp3
  9. Here some stuff that i've been enjoying in 2011 Buddy Ace - Pleasing You - Paula. With the organ and drum intro and then the girlies come in, such a great record..... Eddie Floyd - It's Got To Be That Way - Malaco LP, I think its a great swayer. Concervatives - Who Understands - Ebonic Sound (thanks to Dylan for highlighting this to me) Lonie Jones - Treat Your Baby Right - Jenmark. I have a fondness for all Senator Jones' labels and this has Charles Brimmer at the controls. Bettye Swann - When The Game Is Played On You - Atlantic, her release after Kiss My Love Goodbye. Leon Byrd - I Got Love/ I Catch Myself Crying - SS7. Catch Myself Crying is the side for me, but the other side is a nice SS7 dancer. The 77 release can be picked up for pennies.

Freedom train came out on Goldwax 338. The other side is That's The Way Love Turned Out For Me. Also forgot to mention UK Mojo
  11. I really like Terry Felton's double sider with very competent covers of the Barbara Brown and Ann Hodge tracks. Another detroit label dipping into the memphis vibe
  12. I wonder is there's enough for a Charly thread along the same lines? Or what about West Side as well?
  13. Fantastic. Although Judy Clay's - It's Me was released in 1969/70 on the Stax Comp LP Soul Explosion and Etta James' I was Never Meant To Love Him came out on a Chess/MCA CD in about 2003
  14. Mmmm, Actuarial standards with a tight year end deadline. Looks like I'll be looking for a clever accountant with no sense of humour, does anyone know of any?
  15. I'm probably the only one who didn't know that. When I was younger I bought the LP specifically for this track as it was my top love at the time. When I played it, I thought it sounded different from what I'd heard out but put it down to hearing it at home rather than out after some beers. Never did get round to getting the single.
  16. If this can be done, I think it'll be great as a special page on SoulfulKindamusic. Any interest Dave?
  17. Thanks for the comment as you've said these are well documented. I'm after the ones that could have slipped through the net as they were on LP's or CD's
  18. Suppose this is one for the Ace guys. Does anyone have a list of the previous unreleased tracks that have been released on Kent LP/CD's noting the LP/CD they appeared on? I did it for the Goldwax and XL/SOM stuff, which was a task cross referencing but was quite enjoyable.
  19. His deepie This Time I'm Really Leaving on SOUNcot came from the same session as this.
  20. Soulbluesmusic.com said he died on Friday, such a loss, I love his work and he was still releasing CD's till last year. https://soulbluesmusic.com/leeshotwilliams.htm
  21. Also came out on a Bluebird 7" as well, as release BRT 9. It also got reissued as a 7" & 12" a couple years later

One of the best miserable records ever.... "I don't know if I'm better off alive or dead", only a record involving Swamp Dogg could have these types of lyrics

James Carr - Dark End Of The Street, job done...
