  1. I might as well take it off my watch list now...
  2. I think he owned the rights to the Deltron release and re-released this under his RAM set-up around 1990.
  3. Was this Larry Brown the same Larry Brown who was in Smoke (J.Bridge)?
  4. Thats the title track of his Quad LP

I prefer the album version - such a camp cover... The dancing bit in the middle is longer, cant remember if theres an extra verse or not or is that just the 12" version of Heaven in the Afternoon that I keep confusing it with.

Oh, come on Jock its a great disco dancer that wouldn't be out of place if you heard it on the love boat. So its got nothing to do with soul and is out and out disco, weve all heard worse.
  7. Flip it over... If I Told You So is a great piece of Deep. If no one does it before me, I'll post it up tonight.
  8. Johnny & John - Chrismas in Viet Nam Freda Payne - Bring the Boys Home James Brown - Say It loud (I'm Black And I'm Proud) Impressions - Choice Of Colour Impressions - Keep On Pushing Thinking about it nearly everything Curtis Mayfield did had some sort of message...
  9. Always thought that Micron was only a Jamacian label... Funny alot of play lists on the Web say Micron Canada for it. I did stumble on quite an interesting article on the Canadian reggae scene. Mr Rounce are you in the house, surely you can answer this?
  10. Eddie thanks It's on soul vibes, Crazy Beat has them. I'm looking for the Jamaican one. Cheers, John
  11. Cheers chaps....
  12. Anyone got an idea of price, please?
  13. The Clay Tyson I know was on I-dentify rather than people, was there another one?
  14. In the back of the James Brown biography out a few years ago, there is quite a comprehensive discography of James Brown productions
  15. IMO one of the greatest soul tunes of all time...
  16. This one. You can tell the man was heavily influenced by Otis. The whole LP for me epitomised the genre of soul irrespective of colour
  17. A miserable record - I've never like the Beatles and this has just cemented my view...
  18. Been singing it's praises for a couple of years, now. Even put this on the CD I burned for the X-Over CD swap last December. Tim Brown had one on his last list for £15. Too cheap to go big .

The Sping Sides was the first time it came out. Hears another thing that hasn't really sat well with me, is Chuck Jackson's - Whats with this lonelness and Carla Thomas - I'll never stop loving you. The originals of these are both CD's and the 100 club singles were issued (a while later) on the back of their popularity. So these IMO are re-issues even though its their first exposure on vinyl
  20. I really like the flip "Lets Go Somewhere And Talk", which is a deepish tune - Joe Tex stylie, as only he could do..
  21. What about here.... https://shop.ebay.com/simonquadno9/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=
  22. I remember reading that it was all to do with the change in distributer and who owned the back catelogue and the stax logo, which is why the green releases came out for a while
  23. Surely, it's too cheap to be any good? Put a nought at the end of the price, it'll fly out the door...

Thought that was the alt-take. If so, as Benji said its from the Jap P-Vine LP From Atlanta To Birmingham - and it has added girlie backing
  25. My Demo is green, with a different typeface and silver text
