Soul In South Africa
I'm off to Johannesburg with work in January. I don't envisage any crate digging, but thought it's worth a try asking people if there were any shops? South African released soul records have also been mentioned here from time to time, which I find it quite strange as these were released during the apartheid. So are there any oddities to look out for? Cheers, John

Cd Swap November 2007
Here is my results from taking the on-line test on the drinkaware web-site https://www.drinkaware.co.uk/ "Your drinking may be causing you some problems. We recommend that you speak to a health professional who can provide you with personalised drinking advice. If you're worried about your own or someone else's drinking, you can also call this free helpline, in complete confidence. They can put you in touch with your local alcohol advice centre for help and advice. Call Drinkline on 0800 917 8282 (open 24 hours)." Quite worrying results on initial viewing. I don't drink that often, and it's mainly when I go to soul nights. Maybe I should start driving to do's . Point 3 is a tough one, as my wife sees my postie more than she sees me .

It would have been great to get them, shame I was only 10 years old at the time.

Ebay Clamping Down On Postage Overcharging
I found the French sellers the worst, tended to ignore them, unless I confirmed a real postage amount, up front.

Any Info Please On These
My Bobby Eaton, is a plain green demo with Galaxy in a silver font. Completely different design from this one. I'll post up a scan later. Great tune and has been a favourite of mine for quite a while.

Carl Marshall - I'll Give My Heart To You - Chantilly Lp
Adrian, Interesting CD.... I'm surprised theres not more about if it was booted/repressed. The cover still looks too early for 1980 to me. All the best, John

Carl Marshall - I'll Give My Heart To You - Chantilly Lp
Surfing the web as you do... I found this https://www.funkjazzsoul.net/r597.jpg I have never heard of this album before now and wondered if anyone knew of it or knew what was on it? Although on the Double Hit 7", maybe "I Can't Live Without You" could be on this too. His clothing on the cover could fit the early to mid 70's. I've tried to find a way to contact the web site, but theres no contact facility. Please can anyone help? Cheers, John

Is This Well Known ?
I think it's possibly too stop/start to be played out (although I'm probably wrong). The slow beginning is nearly a minute long of a 3 minute tune. Its really only the chorus thats up tempo. Love the strings at the beginning. Cheers, John

John Donvan
Its been a bad week. Got a new PC recently and still can't get my deck working with it (and I've given people stick for having trouble). I'm also in the middle of a 3 month notice period, which is dragging. At least the postie has been kind to me this week. Nothing like a good bit of deep to cheer you up . John, Thanks, I'll contact Lisa.

Although a rare record, maybe demand for this has been over estimated? Does anyone know if the one, which Anglo auctioned (starting at a grand), sold? I am shocked at the price, someone got a good deal. It might have been another matter, if my bl**dy logon to the auction part worked, . Been trying to logon for at least two weeks and even registered again (but that one doesn't work either), just for this auction, I'm not particularly happy today.

Its not been that for a while, but you can get lucky.

Pep Brown On Lava
I'm in between computers, so still need to transfer lots of files over so cant post it up. Pep Brown was posted in the thread below /index.p...60712&st=50 IMO all of his tunes are ones to have, even the other Lava which is probably his weakest.
