  3. I would of thought true Bruce Springsteen fans would see these cover versions of classic soul records as a sell-out. Usually his records sound like redneck light rock with a voice like Silvester Stallone in Rocky!
  4. Ridiculous prices, defies logic☹️!
  5. Very sad news. A great DJ and he knew the very essence of Northern Soul, which he showed by being able to wind up the dance floor and create a great atmosphere💫

  7. All the original demos I saw in the mid 1970's were Sterling stamped. The good looking bootleg demo was not stamped. I once found multiple copies of Bobby Guitar Woods on Colt in the same box as bootleg copies. Gold originals mixed with those light green coloured bootlegs. The commercial dealer had both and had just lumped them altogether for next to nothing!
  8. The original white demo has a machine stamped Sterling in the run out groove. The white demo boot could easily have had Sterling scratched in with a sharp pointed tool.
  9. Sold. Willie Hutch - Soul Portrait R.C.A. L.P. Incl "Lucky To Be Loved By You". As you probably already know, this is the only way to have this great track on original, as it was never released as a 7" single back at the time of release in 1969. This is the genuine original first issue L.P. For track listing see pictures. Record is near mint. Sleeve is near mint but does have staining on the back.
  10. Yes way too much, there are relatively lots of them. It isn't a rare record!
  11. "Two Loves Have I" - Big Joe Turner - Bluestime. M- condition. £100. A great crossover/ Northern record, that got a lot of plays several years ago and due for a reactivation! Postage is £7.50 for fully insured Special delivery. Paypal Friends and Family or bank transfer. Delivery to UK address only, at this time.
  12. So is the Royal Mail international postage working again after being hacked and disabled in early January? I sent a record to Mexico but they never received it.
  13. Sold. "I Must Be Losing You" - Marion Stewart - R. Promo. This is the nice USA east coast vinyl original first issue, in great Ex+ condition. Only the wisp of a sleeve scuff when held up to the light. Absolutely no effect of the great sound quality. Delivery to a UK address only, at this time. Paypal F&F or bank transfer.
  14. What's a joke to some people, others don't find funny. Depends on your point of view. I always try and do positive posts and not negative, unless it really is relevant to the conversation! It's so easy to pull things down, but very hard to build them up!!
  15. She's ok dancing, but I have watched the Northern Soul dancefloor for nearly 50 years and seen some truly great dancers!

First came out on the red label Sunburst with the yellow sunbursts all around the label. Then picked by Atlantic/Atco for national distribution on Sunburst plain red labels. I think there is a red label west coast variant on styrene as well.
  17. It will be four figures! Who can tell how high it could go! It very rarely comes for sale.
  18. Sent you a PM.
  19. Not quite that far back. A certain dealer had them in a limited quantity in the early 90's. Mint copies for around £12. But then, not many were bothered! 🤔It's now become very fashionable!
  20. The Charades -"You're With Me All The Way" - Mercury Demo. Original 45 of this very nice record. Ex condition, just of couple of very light scuffs that do not effect play. £30 plus £3.50 recorded postage. "Don't Bring Back Memories" - Four Tops - Motown Original Ex+ d/h £10 + £2.40 postage. Great record! "The Ladies Choice" - Boby Franklin - Fee M-. £10 + £2.40 postage. Big record back in the 70's "You Told Your Story" -Troy Keyes -ABC. Ex+ £15 plus £2.40 postage. Classic New York sound. Copy for sale. You tube clip just to hear the tune.
  21. I agree. Looking at the matrix numbers etc it looks like it came out on ShowTime first, then PartyTime shortly after. I think it looks better on PartyTime, especially next to The Four Perfections🥂💫
  22. I went to see The Showstoppers in the late 70's. The lead singer signed his autograph, T.J.Williams. !!!! Don't know if it was the Mala, Josie labels singer, or was it just coincidence? 🤔
  23. Have to agree, I bought a mint copy for next to nothing back then. Nobody was too bothered about it. I only bought it because it has the same backing track as Stanley Mitchell flip side, and nobody was twistin' my arm😃! I like it a lot better now. But other things I thought were great back then, I am not so enthusiastic about now! Tastes change over the years.
  24. Although if we wonder why all the prices are going up, we should look no further than current auctions! You can't blame sellers for wanting a piece of the action!💫
  25. Hi, Sent you a PM.
