  1. A nightmare to Dj with because of the ending
  2. Lots of copies of Little Tommy have been through ebay, but i am still surprised at the money on that one given its condition. Its booked at £1000 (£300 too high i would of thought) but JM has always got much more money for it than that and had it for sale a number of times. Thats the cheapest i've seen it go (again considering condition) for about four years. Others would be Al Williams on Palmer maybe?
  3. YES! Haven't heard it out yet, imagine its a great dancer.....
  4. "The flip is also awesome 'Sometimes I Wonder' top tuneage brilliant double header," Got this recently, both sides awesome, 'Sometimes' almost Shrine-esque production imho. Wasn't amazed on this side first listen but Lupton told me to give it another go and by Jove, he was right.....maybe the better of the sides?
  5. Butch had a white demo at £400 a few months back...might still have it as not that well known (yet)? also look on popsike...someone got on for £37 not too long ago!!!
  6. Hi already sorted but thanks for the offer! a great great record, thank god its cheap for a change
  7. tough r&b sold mine a few years back and have only seen the one on manships for sale since. Great record btw!
  8. Anyone got a minter free of hairlines ect for sale? Thanks! JM
  9. so far all the tracks mentioned are available on cd i think? can we find one it knows that is definetly not on cd (as in professionally produced/licensed?)
  10. Same here, a guy at work bet me i couldn't find a record it didn't know and when i came up trumps with one (can't remember what it was, something off the old soulclub site) i have to say i was quietly relieved after having spouted off about my knowledge of 'music no-one else knows about'
  11. I've tried this with some obscure but not neccesarily super rare records, and then things like the cairos which i played from cd....some it couldn't find, the latter it did. I think how it works is it accesses a database of every record thats been put to cd. Perhaps there is a central database somewhere? It dosen't seem to be able to find records that haven't been comped to cd at some point, at least thats what i've found. Would be amazed if it really can tell you any record ever recorded. For instance take a rare northern record like the tamangoes: i'll wager it can tell you what that is but i doubt it will recognise the b-side. Still an amazing tool all the same!

King Cobras is a great record. Never even heard you play this out James?
  14. I paid about £130 for Emmanuel Laskey about two years ago...thought that JM's price was the current rate at the moment? Its the silver (inferior imho) label version with the wanky synth as the backing comes in that goes for a few hundred isn't it?
  15. Thanks for the info, gorgeous deep soul!
  16. Would love to hear a clip of this 45!
  17. Theres also the Rickey Andrews (edit) funk 45 which is very are as well but not in the league of Willis from what I've heard. Think Honky from the States plays it? I heard it was a bluegrass label.....
  18. Moving onto another Rob Thomas record (so not completely highjacking the thread ) whats the story with Keni Lewis 'Shes Not The Marrying Kind'...one of my favorite records ever.....don't know much about it apart from that i heard its Shrine related? Is that correct?
  19. ? more than one copy?
  20. v.cool
  21. No i think its awesome because her vocal is fantastic and its got a tough driving rhythm & soul backing accompanied by great piano, which just about ticks all the boxes for me with this sort of record. Listen to her voice when she comes back in on the break on top of that guitar lick.....'i got it down baby'......doesn't get any cooler than that. If it was £20 i'd have bought one ages ago.
  22. definitely not
  23. Still think this is one of the best rhythm & soul records i've ever heard at an allnighter. Absolutely awesome. Remember hearing Roger play this, the bonkers instrumental and E.Williams a while back and wondering if you could get better r&b records than that..... Think the Big Tim & The Empires acetate would have to go in with that little lot as well. ps. Fairly sure there was a pic of the Beltone Swticharound on an old Capitol flyer from way back when?
