I'm afraid that's what happens when the Northern scene decides it likes a track! Cheers, Mark R
  2. Feck me.........doesn't Mr. Opolopo know how to rework a tune...............bloody marvellous, monster.....HUUUGE...... Cheers, Mark R
  3. Absolutely no words necessary for this. Heartwarming feel good soul music fit for any SOUL scene......... Cheers, Mark R
  4. Another current monster..........and coming on a 45 too! Cheers, Mark R
  5. Not heard the cut Roger mentioned yet, but subject to that, this is the best thing this year for me.........killer! Cheers, Mark R
  6. And the Blaze LP for £3...........fill yer boots!! Cheers, Mark R
  7. Vonita White "Devotion"........somebody buy it........NOW!! Cheers, Mark R
  8. Don't know it, not heard it, so just an observation here........but you are one of the last people I would expect to think that danceability and quality are always bedfellows! ;-) Cheers, Mark R
  9. But that's the 12".........poster asked about 7", and there's no price for that....... Cheers, Mark R
  10. Nice and understated as usual mate.....I see nothing's changed! LOL Cheers, Mark R
  11. Didn't read all the thread Kev, so didn't see that comment, but that's exactly my point! Cheers, Mark R
  12. If you really think cameras above the decks is a good idea then I think you've lost sight of the dancers perspective on proceedings!! As for admission charges, the original post makes the rash assumption that this money is passed on to the guys and gals that spend so much money on these OVO tunes! Cheers, Mark R
  13. Correct, "Try Me" is the flip. Cheers, Mark R
  14. Just seen Mike's post in sales about not commenting on posts in there, so I've moved my comments here.............. What a tune.... kind of forgotten and under the radar but as good and in some cases better than some of the big ticket modern items.......and bloody rare for sure. It's 2015 and there's no Youtube clip and no price information at Popsike, sort of paints the picture I feel. I know a VERY influential DJ has recently re-acquanted himself with a copy of this so if he starts playing it whatever someone pays for this could actually end up seeming a bargain! Watch this space.......and good luck with the sale. Cheers, Mark R
  15. Sorry......comments moved to LAYB as requested by Mike. Cheers, Mark R

  18. Yes, it was, and Vince Broomfield was extremely complimentary towards John when I interviewed him for Prestatyn radio back in 2013, saying he owes a debt of gratitude to John for his exposure in the UK. Cheers, Mark R
  19. It does make us Modern Soul boys smile...... Cheers, Mark R
  20. Interesting. ......so who had the Curtis Hunt then? Did Mike let it out to someone, as I thought only ever he had it.......unless he was a guest DJ on the night in question??? Cheers, Mark R
  21. Don't dismiss this as more "bang, bang, bang house music.........." blah, blah, there's some proper old fashioned social commentary included here, as the song titles suggest. You also get a nice version of "Wade In The Water" from Dawn Tallman. Great stuff from our friend Josh Milan (Blaze) and his Honeycomb Music imprint. And it's a free download..........dip yer bread and share the link as you wish............. https://honeycombmusic.bandcamp.com/album/honeycomb-music-presents-black-history-music Cheers, Mark R
  22. Two weeks ago mate. Cheers, Mark R
  23. But read the multitude of threads on here Steve, where people state that when they bought EP etc for a pound at Wigan they never realised what they'd be worth now......and the "if only we knew....." I was talking to a well known record dealer/seller at Bully's party and he said the thing that's really rare now/future are actually the indie CD's etc......it's just whether there is any market for them. Odd items are fetching money......William Mininfield £100 anyone. You just never know, but it's fair to say that music should be bought because you like it, not as an investment. Stick to that mantra and you'll never be disappointed!! Cheers, Mark R
  24. I guess this is why there are no professional DJ's on the Northern scene......kind of doesn't work if the tools of the trade cost more than your potential earnings! ! Cheers, Mark R
