  1. Found my Aquarius (red label) copy in a charity shop 25p. Personally I think it's a nice little tune.
  2. If you play the German & US release one after the other they sound almost identical except for the US version they have added a sort of 'live' atmosphere....
  3. Let me know if you're sorted. Found my copy, EX- USA Columbia white demo.
  4. I'll dig out my copy and get back to you if you're still interested?
  5. I think today's contemporary R&B stands for Rhythm and Beats.
  6. On UK Blue-Beat?
  7. 'Kingbee' in Manchester have this for sale...
  8. I had this one too but think I traded it? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Johnny-Taylor-The-Roots-Of-1969-Soul-City-LP-MONO-/250807381701
  9. From google... https://www.georgwa.demon.co.uk/soulcityLPs.htm
  10. I have 2, 'Soul From The City' & 'Mighty Sam'. I'll try and get some scans up later this afternoon.
  11. Sure I have an Intensions in M- ... I'll check and let you know.
  12. Sounded brilliant on that Culture Show programme last night!
  13. Enjoyed it but I'm not a baggy trouser fan. Some good tunes played, Turley Richards 'I Feel Alright' sounded great!
  14. MOST OF THE SKINHEAD TITLES WERE NOT KNOWN, IT WAS NOT UNTIL SOME OF THE YOUNGER KIDS WHO KEPT LISTENING TO REGGAE IN THE MID 7ts DISCOVERD THEM, AND THE MOD REVIVAL IN THE LATE 7ts WANTED THEM THAT A DEMAND TO OWN THEM COME ABOUT, Yes, you're dead right there. A Mod mate of mine from Cambridge had 'Skinhead Speaks...' (Hot Rod) off me after I picked it up in a second hand shop for 25p, he snapped my hand off to get it. This was around 1980/81. Years later I went round his house and managed to get it back plus some of the other 'Skinhead' titles for R&B records that he wanted off me.
  15. Yes, I have all the 'Skinhead' titles, including the Ackee blank 'Skinheads Are Wrecking The Town'. However, I know 'Skinhead Girl' came out on the LP but I've never seen a 45? Is the 45 on Trojan?
  16. When did Symarip - 'Skinhead Girl' come out on a 45? I bought a mint copy of Claudette on Grape from Glenn Henning for £30 around that time, possibly a year or so earlier.
  17. Just out of interest, what is it?
  18. Just realised it was AM not PM....missed it. Can I hear it again anywhere?
  19. You can actually get it on a 'US' 45..... ....albeit a boot! Other side is 'I'm Not Built That Way'.
  20. SS104 fairly tough one to get and a corker!
  21. The first 'Soul Supply' single L.Ps that came out just prior to 'The Northern Soul Story' doubles were: 'That Driving Beat' SS101 'That Driving Beat' SS101 (alt cover, alt track listing) SS102 (?) 'Soulful Kinda Music' SS103 'The Untouchables' SS104 'The Modern Times' SS105 All these have tracks that then came out on the Northern Soul Story doubles (not sure of 102 as I don't have it unless they just changed the number on the SS101 alternative LP which is probably likely).
  22. I got some of mine from 'Andy's Records' in the high street. I got the first 3 'Soul Supply' single Lps then they started the double 'Northern Soul Story' and the first 2 volumes are fantastic gatefold sleeves with some terrific photos. A couple of the later ones had a poster inside. I'm pretty sure some of those double volumes have fetched £25 on the bay.
