Amazing how when someone releases a version in the charts ,how people rush out to re-activate the old one's Lou Rawls' 'Dead End Street' the next one then! Currently sampled and in the charts by Kano...
  3. Vows cost me £60 and Invitations cost me £30(ish)...I was the ONLY bidder for the Invitations (mint copy) about 2 years ago!! Be interesting to see what Johnny Manship gets for it. Mine, like Manny's is a demo, are issues harder to get?
  4. No address on mine....but has 'After The Session' (the 'proper' instrumental) / Adam (crap comedy with good backing track) Moon Shot 6706 After The Session is actually the 'B' side. My copy has '1967' scribbled on the sleeve.
  5. I guess anything between £10/20 ??? It's not an easy pressing to get.
  6. 'B' side 'Puff Adder'....a great 'mod' R&B tinged romp!

  8. Columbia UK original like Steve say's....or you could plump for the re-issue (boot?) on SOS covered as 'Boogaloo Investigator' - Matt Parsons Orchestra (as subtley put by Steve ) for about a fiver.
  9. That L.P called 'After The Session' on Soul Supply??? 'After The Session' of couse is the Subway Riders on Moon Shot.
  10. Yes, MR stamped. Good sound though Pete. Have you played the flip 'It's Been Raining In My Heart'....? Great mid/beat ballad tune!!

Russ...! The 3rd one has the Detroit map - (US Motown 45s style) on the cover don't it. I think the second one is the most in-demand, great cover (I did know who the artist was on the cover but I can't recall now ) and different style than the other 2, laminated also but the other 2 weren't. Not sure which of the 3 is the rarest though??

I'm with you on that Pete!!
  17. This one is in my Reggae collection...MINT! I have 6 or 7 others with similar 'Skinhead' titles....perhaps I should sell now!!???? https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=110339854296
  18. I'm a cancerian! There's a hellalot of truth in what you say, especially the bit about...'99.9% not seeing the light of day just knowing they are there!'....That's certainly true of my huge collection (which takes in Ska, Reggae & 60s garage/beat) we do need help.
  19. Yes, I see your point. My point is this: Something of quality will always be a collectors item, surely? No matter what it is. Be it an antique armchair or a piece of recorded music. There's always gonna be someone who wants it in it's original form. Granted maybe not as many as now, but a rare record of good quality is always gonna sell....right? or maybe not....
  20. ...and good quality too! Well worth getting hold if if you can't afford the original.
  21. 'A rare collectable vinyl record' Rare...because there isn't that many of this particular 45 available. Collectable....because the sound therein is like nothing you've ever heard before, a beautiful song with a fantastic vocal. The beat almost physically drags you to the dance floor. A faultless piece of timeless music, the likes of will never be available again...'they just don't make them like that anymore'. There will always be a DEMAND for this....ALWAYS.
  22. Vinyl records (especially rare stuff) have been collectable for the best part of 60 years. There will ALWAYS be a demand for certain sounds be it Rock N' Roll, Ska, Soul, RnB....just look at today's groups....Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes etc etc....the sound is dated back to the 1960's and so is the look. Turn radio 1 on, listen to a 'new' group and you could be back in 1966!!!!! Most of these new groups love a bit of old Soul/Motown/The Who/Small Faces and you often hear them sing their praises in interviews. My point is this, GREAT music NEVER dies...it just goes round in circles. I was talking to a 'kid' the other day (23 year old), a fan of the new 'Mod' groups and he's getting into old vinyl (which is making a 'comeback' according to the papers....I'm sure that statement comes out every year!) I think our collections are ALWAYS going to worth something, even in another 100 years. Just my opinion though.
  23. Had Hank 'Soul Man' Mullens on the original 'Audel' 45 for a few years now, great tune!
  24. About 15 years ago in Wisbech Cambs , I found a few USA 45s on a car boot for 10p each. Two of these really stood out for me, I'd never heard them before or even seen them listed anywhere. They were 'The Huns Revue' on Sorro and Donald Height 'Rags To Riches To Rags' on Honey....put them on tapes and CDs over the next few years for mates. Both have since become fairly in-demand and can command £150/200 each.
  25. Mine's a dark green one. Looks and plays fine.
