  1. Ok Johnny, Great CD from what I can see, as a lover of 33's myself and always on the lookout for 'album only' tracks. One question though...On the Temptations - who you gonna run to, Kiki Dee - more today... & Jackie Wilson - my heart is calling.....you've put 'alt version'.......of what? I ask in anticipation! As these were not released anywhere else (or were they?) I look forward to your reply, and if you send me a copy of yours I'll send a copy of one of my fine 'Album Only' CDs that you may find interesting (10 volumes and counting!). Johnny South
  2. Got another L.P by Lou Christie from a car boot few years back 'Lightning Strikes' MGM with a great version of the Motown evergreen '(Love Is Like a) Heatwave'.
  3. Original is vinyl with moulded label. The boot is styrene with stick on label (lighter shade of blue).
  4. Yeah, good one (like your J.J.Jameson avatar, being a Marvel fan myself!), try finding a copy of that L.P nowadays for £1.99.

Think so, also on a OOT e.p from around 1979/80 (other tracks on it were Damon Fox, Christine Cooper & Frankie karl)

Depends which boot you are on about? The 70's 'fooled a lot of people' stamped one goes for £25 upwards, the more recent one obviously a lot less.
  7. If last weekend counts, got these beauty's 50p each: No One Could Love You More - Gladys Knight & Pips (UK TMG) You Better Believe It Baby - Chubby Checker (UK Cameo) Daddy's Home - Shep & Limelites (UK Pye int....already swapped for Mike Vickers - On The Brink UK Columbia, with my local record dealer) Platters - Going Back To Detroit / Sweet Sweet Lovin' (UK Pye) Jackie Edwards - Come On Home (UK Island) Spencer Davis Group - Trampoline (UK Fontana, nice Northern instr)
  8. Of course it was.....unless the postage is over £20!!! Great album, about 5 volumes (or so?) of mainly 'Northern' stuff.
  9. Interesting to note the instrumental flip is being played on the Northern Soul scene. What's the Instrumental flip called? Can you put an mp3 of it up? Be nice to hear it. Great site by the way, some groups that definitely crossed over to the Soul sound. John

Presume you mean the Ashford one, not the boot on Awake!??? What would that go for on the bay? There are definitely some real collectors bootlegs wants and fairly hard to get (like the Eddie parker): Lenny Curtis (very good quality black/white End styrene press), Magicians on Chartmaker (Servicemen), John & Wierdest (gets a few people fooled, but will still go for good money even if they know it's not kosher).
  11. I have 2 by them both on Pacific but both different shades (light blue/ mid blue & white) and different paper texture. Don't have 'Instant Love' but they were a fairly popular group and would guess that the label got pressed up at different plants? All great tunes by them by the way!
  12. Listed as that side cos' that side IS THE BEST! Walks all over 'I'm Gonna Put The Hurt...'
  13. Yes was booted, a good looking one at that! Flip of the boot is 'Look In The want Ads'
  14. Was a legit re-release with an unissued Linda Jones tune on the flip by Warner Brothers.
  15. Sugar Pie Desanto - Go Go Power
  16. This one has a few surface marks (nap) so would probably want around £40 for it. Thanks for your help soul mates!
  17. seriously, £25 and rising...if you can get one, bit in-demand at the moment.
  18. Thanks for that sepia.
  19. Been to the car boot this morning, picked up some nice UK 45s including this dancer on TMG 864. What's the going rate for this? Also, I know it was on an L.P but was it ever released as a 45 in the States? Thanks John
  20. Hi Dave, I have the Petites. Do you still need a scan?

There is a Stax (blue label) re-issue? with Johnnie Taylor's 'Blues In The Night' on the flip. Great sound quality but I don't know it's origins.
  22. Had it years, but have since put it in my 'funk' box because to me it's more akin to that sound than Northern, especially the flip too!
  23. From my scans archive.
  24. Magicians - An Invitation To Cry is on Columbia and are a white garage band.
