  4. cheers for the info guys, its much clearer now, i knew the jay traynor orig was on abc but thought it could be one of those obscure boots that can fetch a few quid sometimes ! found em in a old box and thought id inquire, thanks for the help though guys

    i thought that too mr smith, cos i bought one wen i was bout 15yrs old,i didnt know any better, nor did i care at that time to be honest but i now know how important such things are! think i got it from manchester carousel or somewhere, could be wrong though

  14. ditto !! im a single father with a 16yr old autistic daughter who fizzes like a bottle of shook up pop and i need all my energy to look after her,i also work, i did the whole thing in the 80s to early 90s and never missed a nighter of a weekend,u couldnt keep me away from stafford, leicester, notts, morecambe, hinckley etc, etc, loved every second of it but now some things are more important,i do go soulin once a month though when my girl goes to respite for the weekend but only do soul nites,im still obsessed with rare soul and still collect etc, as we all know, it doesnt matter how u get your soul fix cos its in the blood and always will be, in fact my daughter is obsessed with music too and loves rare soul nearly as much as me so its not all bad !

  18. good evening ian, been asked to post this on behalf of a friend so sorry if been asked before, were there any cover ups at the mecca ? did u sell many records that u stopped playing in yr dj sets ? and if so did u manage to get copies back if you regretted selling them ? do u have records that u would never sell ? did u hear records played by other djs that u just had to get a copy of yourself cos u loved them ? once again im sorry if been asked before

  23. ian,i consider myself a bit of a 60s rare soul freak but a lot of the tunes you have posted are superb in my opinion, i try to see it as not what people think they SHOULD sound like but more as what they DO sound like, and i bloody like a lot of em !
