the track I heard at 2:21 is definitely the climax band my love. you can listen to it on my radio show to compare, www.sittinginthepark.com/shows.htm
  2. I agree, I think some long time collectors will pay for the number and not the quality though. I recently got a copy of the rarer regal dewy 45, stock with the flip. I was super psyched because I got it cheap and it always went for a lot on ebay, like $200 or something like that. It was terrible.
  3. I still need this...
  4. unless someone made some sort of bootleg, I don't think there's an LP.

I read on another message board that car city is closing down on September 30th
  6. Thanks in advance. I only need a US press as a promo with a long version. Thanks.
  7. well I'll give you 50 quid if it has the long version on it
  8. if you have a promo with the long version i will give you 50 quid, for my collection, not for resale. I personally wouldn't pay more than that though.
  9. you all are wrong ... it's actually collectible because it's a promo and has a long version on one side. much rarer in that format. i think it was a bidding war between japanese bidders on that one but i've seen another promo go for like ~$300

    climax band - my love - B&B
  11. Hi. Yesterday on my radio show I interviewed Bernice Watkins, a member of the female group Living Color, who cut a single "Thank the lord for love" / "Got a strange feeling" on the Madhatter label out of Chicago. The group was from the north side of Chicago, from the Cabrini Green projects, and attended the legendary Cooley High School. They have an interesting story despite only cutting one record. You can listen to the interview at: www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews/livingcolor-8-14-2011.mp3 thanks, Bob
  12. Hi. I'm looking for a copy of the Temprees - Mr Cool That Ain't Cool / Lovin' you is so easy on We Produce 1814. Thanks in advance.
  13. he used to come to the Chicago record shows, he always had a different tye-died shirt and a ponytail
  14. stuff always goes under the radar and sweet soul people get into bidding wars. also stuff tends to go out of fashion quickly as lots of people don't want records as soon as they are bootlegged on cd comps or widely known.
  15. this was always a cheap record with some stock floating around. then in the last few years the record became in demand with sweet soul collectors and the stock had already dried up. this caused the increase in prices.
  16. I think the orange is also a US press
  17. both sides killer
  18. I would totally buy an android version
  19. maybe, but I don't know what's different from this listing compared to hundreds of other ebay auctions at any given time
  20. yes. butch and the newports are exactly the same group as the gaslight. The young sirs (which is earlier), has two common members, but butch (oliver cheatham) was a member.
  21. "hard times" is unreleased, would love to hear it. The other came out on TEAI and then Polydor. I got an awesome young sirs photo from one of the members, the young sirs became the gaslight.
  22. cavaliers will pretty much never come up for sale though
  23. Thanks a lot, it has the same marks in the deadwax as the Mikki Farrow as described in the manship guide. Must be real. Thanks everyone for the help!
  24. thank you. The only reason i doubted it is that the paper looks so thin that it's not a pure white, it sort of looks like the black of the vinyl is coming through. I looked in popsike and I can't really tell by looking at the other promo copies if they're similar.
  25. Can anyone tell me if Tony Hestor on karate was ever booted on a white label DJ? I just got one in the mail, the label looks sort of "thin", which is why I'm asking. Thanks in advance.
