you have to remember that some soul venues are at clubs ie social, miners welfares etc.if these places suffer in general then they may close.a northern do once a month may not be enough to keep them open.its great at the moment,its summer.the winter will be the telling point.seen a program about the ban in ireland and it said about 10-15% of places have had to close due to the ban.an estimate on closers here was between 6-10,000.at the end of the day,its good for non smokers and bad for smokers.theres nowt you can do about it

spot on.never have liked any of this made up stuff i.e popp,levine.its one of the reasons why i stopped going to alot of local dos in nottingham.to say if it FILLS dance floors play it, is crap because that means any old tosh can be played if it sounds like "NORTHERN".definitely not for me,i like soul music too much,something the sounds of mr popp isnt
