  5. Don't understand the comparisons to when we were 14/15/16 in the 70's, we were exploring another world very much away from our parents and everything our 'normal' lives had to offer, not just wigan etc, weekends and school hols meant where can we go today that we havn't been before? My 4 kids are aged 16 - 23 and are always asking me where this road or that street is, today they just don't seem as interested in finding out for themselves as we did, so whether its a good thing for youngsters to be on the soul scene or not, from my experience theres no comparison whatsoever with 30+ years ago, its a completely different world, Pete
  6. Nowt to do with me but Dazz says in his opening post contact by email, unless you have already tried that?
  7. Here you go, if it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFPCLtoBWtc
  8. Bogue, it was something like 'stepmother' and there was a scene where the actress was dancing round her bedroom miming to it, using her hairbrush s a mic, then again i could have dreamt it
  9. Fantastic track, and the only track that me and my 17 year old daughter see eye to eye on, as i think it was part of a soundtrack from a film a few years ago, can't remember the name of the film but it doesn't get much better than this, as Bearsy says played in the right enviroment of course, Pete
  10. As already said was a mistake (wrong title listed) plus i don't think 'i don't know about you' is on the demo, think it's 'easy to be hard' both sides, could be wrong,

I too get bored with the 'modern soulies' telling me i'm a dinosaur and i should move on, move on where? i like what i like which in the main is predominantly 60's sounding soul, classic or newly discovered, but i must take my hat off to the likes of people like Baz Maleedy and Bob Hinsley who nowadays spend most of their time in the modern rooms/events around the country and at any given time can play a 'spot' in a northern room that would blow most of todays thousands of 'northern dj's' out of the water, for imagination, quality, and actually reading the room and what is required, not to mention their ability to keep up with all things soulful, plus they never attempt to impose their preffered tastes on others, i'm sure theres more than the couple i've mentioned but classic examples of enjoy what you like! and if you don't like it, fair enough! Pete
  12. Anyone got any info on this trac and the David Morris on Radnor? Identical tracks so which was first? which is rarer etc? Cheers Pete

Ordinary Joe is a timeless classic IMO, was told once it has been a gay anthem, don't know how true this is, anybody? Often wondered if the lyrics have an underlying message?
  14. Cheers Rich, got mine yesterday so not had much chance to have a listen yet, but as already been said an extremely kind gesture, Thanks again, Pete
  15. Wasn't directed at site or its policies, i think thats a tad sensitive, was directed at prevoius posts in general, and members reluctance to post in a negative manner toward an event (also not directed at any event in particular) 'negatives should be dealt with the promoter in private' was mentioned in a previous post, So i think you are having a go at me rather than me at the site, if i wasn't happy with the site and its policies i wouldn't be here! Hope this clears things up somewhat
  16. Now this is what really pisses me off when it comes to reports on how an individual saw/enjoyed an event on here, Seems its fine to publically attack the likes of KR or RW regardless of how many other attendees actually really enjoyed themselves, Any other events it seems is positive feedback only, and anything negative should be dealt with the promoter in question in private, If you can only report all the good about an event (publically) and don't dare speak up if it wasnt up to standard for any individual, then how are we supposed to form a balanced picture of what to expect should anybody decide to attend? Whats the point of a feedback/lookback forum? Pete
