  1. Hi Sean! Chester "Lyfe" Jennings is a great talent. With 1 EP and 3 full albums below his belt he ought to crossover to the mainstrean. Has been accepted by the urban crowd, but I think he has the kind of rough soulfulness that we associate with the Bobby Womacks and Johnnie Taylors so he should appeal to most soulies. He ought to be a major star. I like his first album, do not rate his second effort that highly, but think he´s back to form with his third album which is currently available via all the usual sources: https://www.amazon.com/Lyfe-Change-Jennings...1745&sr=1-1 And what a life story. At the age of 15 he was sentenced to 10 years of prison (for Arson!), and when he got out he started recording music, the first album got its name from his prison number 268-192! Cheers, Melismo

  15. Here´s a link to the record label: https://www.de-angelisrecords.com/ Glad to see that Anthony Wright gained some well-deserved recognition when he did that live session for BBC Radio2, "Reset To Zero" sounding very organic and kind of Northern Soul-ish actually.
  16. Sorry Matt, don´t know what happened this morning, either there was a temporary glitch with the Podomatic page, or I´m a very confused man, I think the latter is more likely to be the case...LOL...Everything´s clear (visible) now, just downloaded and listened to the mix - great great stuff as always mein Freund!!! Cheers, Melismo

  19. Hi Tolbert! I live in the southern part of Sweden. From my experience Copenhagen is a pretty hopeless city for finding soul vinyl, but hopefully someone can prove me wrong. Any recommendations from other forum members???? Malmoe and Gothenburg don´t have a lot to offer either, Stockholm though has a few specialist shops, but that´s far from Copenhagen of course, so of no help, I know... Have a nice trip Cheers, Melismo
  20. Sebastian, always look forward to your mixes, and mix #6 doesn´t disappoint, another top-notch selection! Cheers, Melismo

The O`Jays PIR output is amazing but also very much love those early pre-PIR recordings. Been listening to some of their best Minit and Bell stuff during the last few days. Best regards Melismo
  23. For anyone who hasn´t heard this retro-sounding album, all tracks can be previewed here: https://www.myspace.com/raphaelsaadiq
  24. Many Afro-Americans (including soul artists such as Jason Little) are sir-named Little, which is a typical slave name, given to certain slaves who were considered to be short/small/little
