FFS how many more times; 1) I am using youtube because it saves me posting the same track multiple times on the forums of which I frequent. Once on here on refosoul, once on EMS, once on the funk & soul forum etc. Is this concept really that difficult? It may be lazy of me, but sorry about that, it saves about half an hour each track to load it up in 1 place instead of 5. 2) Advertising? How is it advertising? Youtube is a free site, you don't have to pay to listen. 3) Yes, some of the tracks may indeed be in refosoul, but as I have said, the same uploads are for many forums to listen to, not just soulsource. 4) I'm sorry if I have inconvenienced anyone by tryign to share some music, Clearly I shouldn't bother. 4)

Good points, but as I said, the reason for youtube is so I only have to post them once. If I posted them on refosoul, then people on other forums wouldn't hear them ,and I'd end up having to post up 4 times (to cover the forums that I visit). As for time, it's a piece of p*ss using windows movie maker, even for a phillistine like myself.

Hi all, I've started ripping a few bits and posting them up on youtube. I know I could have put them on refro, but this way I only have to post them up once to cover all the forums I'm a member of. Comments and suggestions on any tracks would be welcome. https://www.youtube.com/user/PhillyDavesSoul

Price From Manship Auction Wanted
Hello all, can anyone tell me what this went for on Manship's auction (June I think it was); A Stroke Of Luck "She's so fine"/"So in love with you". TIA

Admiral Ice - Carolina Girl
Great tune, and underated IMO. Can't do a scan of mine just now due to circumstances beyond my control (ie. some scumbag stole my camera!). Original label is quite plain and would be easy to boot, but not aware of it having been. Not often seen for sale but I think about £80 would be a decent price.

Just a quick thanks to all those that have supplied their CDs, and a special thank you for the replacement copies, much appreciated. Some interesting stuff, looking forward to the others.

Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings
Great band, amazed you hadn't heard of them before. All their LPs have a mixture of throwback soul and funk, with a superb band and top notch vocals. All worth a purchase.

War!what's This Band Good For?
Hmm, I've got that LP, but not noted the track you mention as any good, I'll go back and give it a listen.

War!what's This Band Good For?
Totally agree, superb track. Great group, that were always bigger in the US than over here. Also love the soulful version of "All day music" on their "Music band live" LP & "Five spot" from the "Music Band Jazz" LP among others.

Shakatak - Sunshine
Not to my knowledge, think it was Jap CD only ("Under your spell" & a Jap best of)

Larry Clinton- Buy It Now For $1,200 ?
I don't even think of buying anything off someone unles they have 98+% positive feedback and at least a score of 50 or more. Certainly not big money items. That's like giving someone in the pub car park £500 and trusting that he'll meet you there tomorrow with your record.

The Onion Song-Marvin & Tammi
Wouldn't you get wet?

The Onion Song-Marvin & Tammi
Ady's not alone. I detest this record with a vengeance. The lyrics - arghhhhhhhhh! Probably my least favourite Motown "classic". "Two can make a party" comes close though (ducks for cover - "taxi"!)

Something For Everyone
Since the music night I co-run is called "All Things Soulful", then I suppose this is one thread that I really should post a reply to. We run what could be termed an across the board night. 5 hours or so, once a month on a Saturday of tunes from the 6ts to new releases. The philosophy being that a lot of people either like soul from all eras, or are open minded enough to listen to them and then decide. Other attendees prefer their Northern/Modern/New tunes or whatever, and by mixing it up, they know that they don't have to wait long before hearing something that floats their boat. If you want a whole night of one particular genre, and hate others, then this isn't the gig for you, but then the title sort of tells you what to expect. Does it work? Well, we've been paid well to do it for over 5 years at the same venue, so we must be doing something right. So, here's a recent playlist (all oldies are ovo, newer items on whatever they were originally released on, vinyl, CD, whatever); Frank Beverly - "If that's what you wanted" H.Andrews "Steppin' out" Rell "Let me show you" Kindred The Family Soul "Everything I need" Temptations "Girl why you wanna make me blue" Randy Brown "Do you love me" Kim Weston "A thrill a moment" Adrians Evans "Weatherman" Joyo Velarde "The way we are" Tommy Tate "Do you think there's a chance" Garland Green "Don't let love walk out on us" O'Jays "Let life flow" Candi Staton "Young hearts run free" Terry Callier "Look at me now" Quasimode "Sayonara blues" Mark Grant/Russoul "It's over" Groove Junkies/TC Moses "Far away" Margie Joseph "Come on back to me lover" Donny Hathaway "Whats going on" Karin Jones "Ready ready love" Johnathan Jeremiah "Whats a guy got to do" Cool Million "Back for more" Magnificent Men "Keep on climbing" etc....

Modern Soul Cd Swap
Ok. I've sent them all out today, nothing to rare, so you at least have a chance of finding them if you like one of the tracks. Sorry, but had no idea there were 2 more people. These will have to wait awhile as I didn't save a copy of the CD on the PC and will have to start from scratch!

Likewise - Love LPs, hate the track. Cover looks cool though!
