Troop; I saw the film at the Castle in Wellingborough last night with 80 or so like minded folks, had me laughing, cringeing and swallowing hard in places as it mirrored my life at times far to realistically, captured those moments in time that keep us all going perfectly. Havnt a clue where the Bruce Lee connection comes from, surely that is simply a myth, made me smile though, who pissed hasnt tried to kick the head off a flower, I always ended up on my arse! Superb film about something Iv enjoyed all of my life, might send a copy to my ex as she cited the music as one of the reasons the marriage failed Thankyou Elaine. Gouch

I have no doubt that Lisa Stansfield has promoted this film at every opportunity and I also know how much effort and personal cost has been put into this film by Elaine but to get on national TV at such prime time and be unable to take the opportunity to promote the film properly to the general public, the vast majority of who'm don't know what Northern Soul is was tragic. It needed Elaine to tell the story not to be interupted by LS. I have nothing negative to say about the film, I have tickets booked to see the film at the Wellingborough Castle, the story very much mirrors my life for the most part. We clearly have never met, in 45 years of being a part of this fabulous scene and all its various factions, Iv never been accused of having any sort of ego. I made an observation about something I witnessed which was about a subject that has dominated my entire adult life, I think I had the right to say it as I saw it, you may feel it was harsh and perhaps my wording could have been better, but a huge opportunity has been lost.

Saw Elaine on the TV this morning but the ego that is Lisa Stansfield fucked up the interview and the reasoning behind the movie was totally lost, ditch Stansfield next time and you might be able to put your very credible point accross. Gouch

Steve: Iv collected for the past 47 years, and Im now semi retired, I only work between 8-midday, Mon-Fri, Im rediscovering the tunes I have in my music room, some years ago I had a room built over the garage to house the collection, over the years Iv pondered selling up, but Im so glad I didnt, three/four afternoons every wekk I get lost in my world/record room, sifting through the shelves playing tunes that havnt seen the light of day for 20+ years. Because I collect just about every era, style with my main interest in Southern/deep I have such a variety, and Im still avidly adding to it, almost every day I say to myself "I dont remember getting this".I dont care about the money side of things,Im 60 next year, to late for that, I'll let my two sons worry about that, to die in my room listening to some obscure 45/album track would be a fitting way to go,don't sell up unless you want a life of Come dancing/x factor reruns, nights out at bingo, and the odd glass of beer down the pub, cant think of anything worse. Andy: If I knew how to load it up I would post up the original review done by Rod in Voices at the time and yes it is/was unissued Johnnie Taylor and it defo was a legal issue with royallties paid. Gouch

Chalky; Rod Dearlove was involved in this arriving on seven, it was around the time of Thorne and Voices From The Shadows, it got a full review in the mag and was a huge Thorne spin for him, Defo legit as Rod wouldnt touch anything iffy. Give him a call, he'll have all the details. Gouch

I played it on one the sunday morning soul shows for Solar radio a couple of years ago now, the switch board lit up like a xmas tree with folks wanting to know what it was before I anounced it, one very well known collector asked me to give him a few miutes so he could try and locate one on the net. A well respected tune in many circles. Gouch
