  1. just talking about this the other day to somebody. blew me away when I first heard it on your CD
  2. fantastic this (flip side offcourse) have you ever seen it on quadrant ?
  3. It still is "just about never seen" I don't be put off by the fact I luckily came across a couple of copies. Not aware of any more myself. so far no joy with selling this ?? quite suprised realy expected at least some interest ?? will take deep soul / sweet soul trades I consider to be of equal value.
  4. I had to choose between bliss and RIP as money was tight on that day. I choose bliss. vocalist on RIP lets it down a bit backing track is pretty good though. I struggle to hear what he is saying.
  5. Alton McClain on Polydor Coffee on Love Lite plenty of other cheap but great stuff in a similar vein.

if you get 10 more copies you can get £300 from sebastian. easy money.
  7. looks exactly the same. as he says its NOT northern in any way share or form. Its 2 x fantastic DEEP soul sides. glad somebody else knows it i've never seen it before so when I did snapped then up. Does seem genuinely rare.

regarding the nat hall flip its very similar in style to his take on "why" the guitar, the rises etc etc. sounds OK can imagine it getting people dancing.

never heard the flip to nat hall... or have I ? what style is it.
  10. rare deep soul from New Orleans on the tiny river city label from a great singer. put up a previous thread requesting info but no replies. I'll stick a price of 80UK on this see how it goes. 2 copies available and 1 stopping in my collection. Its deep soul of the highest quality on both sides. cheers.

IMO the better version. more gritty.
  12. this man grades his 45s accurately. I baught a vg+ and it was almost like deadstock lovely condition. and a top price.
  13. you missed this bit when quoting me but in the 3 or so months i've been back on i've added a couple of great 45s to the collection and made a couple of new contacts so its not all bad. and refosoul is very good. I should certainly add that. Its very informative. but its not just one thread with people moaning its quite a few more noticeable lately for some reason ?
  14. ground hog day indeed it does seem to be getting worse and worse. prehaps its time for another break from the forum for me. I had about 5 months not reading then came back full of hope only to ready post after post of this kind of stuff. but in the 3 or so months i've been back on i've added a couple of great 45s to the collection and made a couple of new contacts so its not all bad. also i'm more concearned about the fact that another copy of jimmy holloway has just appeared on ebay. Hope there aren't going to be too many more ????
  15. only 5 times... best 45s i've found take far longer than that to click. Or to put it another way before you realise just how good they realy are.
  16. a touch young for the heyday of the big warehouse parties and infamous clubs but did a lot of house music clubbing between 92-97 then stopped and then got into soul music about 99ish.... Well I mean took an interest in the culture etc etc then moved on to collecting the records and trying to learn mroe about soul music in general. Can't believe I left it as late as I did. musically soul as you say wins no question but for pure atmosphere what I have seen on more recent years on soul scene gets nowhere close to what I saw in the house clubs. don't realy listen to any house musivc now but they were special times. Doesn't seem to be anything like that happening now and I can't see what will come along and have the same impact in the future. It must have been unreal in that 88-90 period. The older lads we knew around town used to come back with great stories about shellys in stoke, renaissance in mansfied etc etc.
  17. Picked up a copy of this recently but also managed to aquire a spare copy. Its 2 very good deep soul sides to my ears but what price should I be trying to sell it for ? I have just seen it listed for 200UK on a dealers list is this a fair price ? I'd be happy to let my spare go 1/2 this price, could be a good price for somebody ?? or prehaps not ?? Its the 45 he cut just before the big ticket northern item and i'm guessing this is a fairly small nola label that would have only been distributed locally. dylan
  18. didn't take long to get a reation from you.
  19. Hot boxing is watching what Ian Wright and Butch buy and then posting it up on here as a want and offering stupid money for it. Trent Sisters, Buddy Cantrell, Willie Johnson. its a joke.
  20. i'm very suprised Johnny Robinson hasn't sold ?
  21. no it shouldn't, its priced right for a vg- copy ?
  22. looking forward to listening to this at the weekend. go your site as one of my favourites got lots of other interviews still to get through as well.
  23. its not exactly memorable is it ? can't see any reasaon to get excited here. and whats going on with that Larry Davis another that was 50 quid all day long 5 or 6 years ago
