I've seen that 45 on bantu quite a lot I think its by Gilmore Brothers ?
  3. Dylan replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
I still prefer "i'm through with you" but both sides are great.

That is a terrific 45 last year I saw copies sell for $10 (after I got mine) and also copies listed for 80UK so lord knows what the price is, I don't think it has a stable price. I paid $30 for my copy and was very happy to do so. Its stunning.
  5. When the Ray Lewis version of "Too sweet to be lonely" D'ar starts fetching 250 somebody can have my copy
  6. Has she made a bad record ? everything i've heard has been top notch. Need mp3s for the blue star if anybody has them. I saw a copy on ebay about a year or so ago and despite very poor condition it made a good price. Must be saught after

LP is available in 2 formats as I remember. P-Vine from Japan. And far more desireable Turbo from USA. One far more expensive and much much harder to find than the other.
  8. Amy who ? Give me Annette Snell any day of the week. Now she can sing.
  9. Lovely copy of this Bobby Womack HIM 45. There is a 2 second cue burn on the very start of the vocal side but its over before the record takes hold. Not realy been a problem to my enjoyment of the disc. Light surface marks but still retains all original gloss nice and shiny. So a strong vg+ Make me a cash offer if you want it or alternatively deep soul trades from all eras. Could be a good side for an oldies DJ to get behind ? I can't remember hearing this played very often.
  10. check yer PMs
  11. This is a great 45 but isn't it the other side "A man in love" that is the real killer ? well thats what I baught it for.... and this copy here is very good value !!!
  12. Richard Marks "Innocent bystander" must be very rare as a 12" the 7" is something i've only personally seen for sale once but know of others. I've never seen a 12"
  13. I have a poor recording of this on an old tape and always thought it was a cover up name until I did a bit of digging for info... so has it ever been played to a dancefloor ? great record.

"My shoes" is an absolute cracker. I was actually just listening to that this afternoon. Then I gave "love stealing" a quick spin. 50UK sounds about right you may actually get it cheaper but it deserves to be much more.

This record is very easy to find as an OG probably still less than 10 dollars so I can't see any ponit behind anybody booting it. Great record on both sides. Now as for some of her other 45s they are a bit harder to find.....

I've picked up 2 x Sorokas 45s only last year not sure if there are any more ? both are on the same label one credited to Sorokas and one to Sorokas Band both cheap I wasn't buying soul in the 80s on account of only being 10 in 1984 so I missed all the bargains from Soul Bowl and as a result I doubt Veda will ever enter my collection. It makes me laugh how in some circles a 45 like veda is now considered rare.
  17. Those radio shows were very good at soul45.org as well that is a shame. The funk forum seems to be quite now as well. Its still there via a freehosts link but doesn't seem as busy.
  18. --> QUOTE(mark.b @ Nov 10 2006, 10:49 PM) link hi ed simpson pinch hitter gold future mark Anybody else want one of these ? Got one for sale which will go into the correct section at some point..... Recently baught... Pete Cooke "I won't cry" Dinension Kim Tolliver "Standing room only" Pathfinder Carroll Lloyd "Try my love" Tower
  19. So this is a japanese release or US ? forgive my ignorance..... I'm assuming a Japanese release of some sort which may or not be legitimate judging by some of the comments above.
  20. How much was the vg copy on ebay ? $46 for a record of this quality in M- is a realy good buy. I've just picked up Louis Jones "Thats cuz I love you" Decca $50 very pleased with that. I was the only bidder which I did think was a bit odd ?

I got just over 500 for a lovely M- copy early 2005. Have seen a couple of beaten up copies on ebay most recent sold in a set with Billy Ball on Apollo I think that pair went over $600 but they were only vg or vg- I think 500UK would probably be a bit high now if you are patient it will come along but you might be bidding against me if it stays cheap enough This is surely a contender for one of the very best soul records ever !!!!!
  22. Its a real one. Complies with the manship bootleg guide. Very tiny raised bit under the label. A letter or something ?
  23. A ist of items I currently have for sale. Bobby Sanson "Don't leave" Sublime M- £40 Similar style to Shufflers, Donald Jenkins etc etc great mid-pacer. Blue eyed soul you have been warned !!!! George Freeman "Down and out" Valiant vg++ £200 Purple issue copy of the beat ballad classic. Sensations Feat Yvonne Baker "Good enough for me" Junior M- £60 (small biro xol) Early soul / R&B style mover better than her other on the label IMO. Sophisticates "Back up baby" vg+ £20 Priced to sell M- copies must be double this now ? Donald Jenkins "Somebody help me" Cortland M- £60 The track that turned me on to the slower soul sounds. A defining moment for me. Shufflers "Always be mine" Crackerjack vg+ £60 plays great but has several light surface marks and NR stamp on label. Comments read as Denald Jenkins another defining track for me. Royal Five "Say it to my face" Tyler vg+ £40 A fair price ? It books much higher. Fred Hymes III "Time ain't gonna do me no favor" Fab Vegas M- £125 Anybody still need this ? probably not but you never know....... Intensions "I'm losing your love" Uptight M- £100 Frantic 100mph stomper that is worthy of spins Sebastian Williams "Get your point over" Ovide M- £30 Copy sold for £40 on here recently so here's another up for grabs. Great double sider with the in-vogue funky x-over style sound. Ike Noble "It's bad" Alley M- £30 All my spares now gone this is my copy. Nice head nodder. Comes with untidy and messy uptempo flip that some like. Can't see why ? Joey Gilmore "Girl you're best friend done took your place" Saadia M- £60 One of the easiest ones on the label but still a very nice sound. Little Johnny Truitt "Your love is worth the pain / same" A-Bet £20 Another defining track here. One of those that got me into the deeper side of things. Truly inspiring this ooozes soul and if your curious about deep this is as good a place as any. You can spend a hell of a lot more than this but you won't get much better and its whats in the grooves that counts !!!!!! Paypal preferred method of payment. PM me if you want anything. Cheers, dylan
