that oliver joy is a great record and seems to hide in the shadows of his other on the label. the deep side is particulary good.

this is exactly my view on it as well. I won't hold onto something just for fear of loosing some $$ if i've made on others it all comes out right in the end.

in spite of the soul clip being very short and very missable it was a good programme I enjoyed watching it.

doing it full time as your "proper" income would take a hell of a lot of time and effort backed with a huge amount of knowledge but could be possible. more casually to help support your own record buying should be easier.

you can buy of ebay sell on here for a profit and still undercut dealers if you have got the time and effort required to do it.

some of the prices i'm seeing thing sell for on ebay now compared to 5 to 10 years ago this has already started........... richard marks on free spirit a couple have just sold way under what I thought they were worth.

this is all true but when you hear and get blown away by a record you still have a chance to dig around for info before making a purchase. certainly before spending big $$ anyway.

the japanese have been collecting soul just as long as we have. some of the best collections are in japan. its nothing new.

the bobby barnes on poormans is an excellant version of jacquline jones with an equally good flip side. don't think i've come across any of the others yet..........

well you've proved perfectly how a well known artists potentially rare record can still sell for $10 with only 1 bid. thats a good thing IMO and sets the example any new collectors should follow.

I don't think the deep soul flip is good enough to warrant that kind of price tag even for the most ardent deep soul fan. its OK but no where near a holy grail in terms of the sound.
