Rich that is the one its a brilliant track. The band came in a lot more at the end last night than the version I just listened to on youtube and it realy added to the song. So many highlights but thats the one that got me the most.

Yes gald I made the effort for this one. Fantastic singer supported by a great band. Standout moment for me a song was Lee was singing with guitar player only for majority of a song then the whole band just kicked for for last 30 seconds or so. Brilliant. Also a couple of loud sceams in the finale that raised the levels a bit.

I think the irish centre all nighter on sunday at nottingham can be added to this list if its not already included ?

most people I speak to who aren't involved in the scene just know about 10 or 20 records if the conversation gets onto northern and they are realy bad examples. outside the scene the awareness is very poor and the whole ethos of what it should be about gets missed. just IMO offcourse......

Jules Johnson and Dynamics "I've been a long way from home" Free As A Breeze this is a very rare record and plays though OK but with pops and clicks etc etc. Vinyl is also heavily marrked. its OK until a decent copy comes along if its a record you are looking to add to your collection. The uptempos flip which is also very good has a couple of big skips on the intro then plays well. I would price a M- / Ex copy of this in the region of 300 to 400GBP so bearing that in mind i'm after 50GBP for this copy. PM if interested. I can send a clip if necessary. "just the touch of your hand" is brilliant. Reading this thread made me dig it out for a listen. eddie parker "but if you must go" might just be mj favourite record from detroit. I've never managed to find one though.

are there legit emi discs as well as the made to order ones ? there are quite a few scans of emi discs in the thread and i always thought they were all boots but it might be some of them are real ?

is the record by the passions "time is a natural" on cylyn the same group ? the flip to this is also reasonable mid tempo.

I think thats a good point a lot of people do find or drift into this scene as tyhery get a bit older. As for dress sense on the northewrn scene you don't see too many sharply dressed folk. Just the odd one here and there.

its just the odd few no where near enough to keep a scene going.

yes its not great but its not a terrible record either. "watch yourself" on sir rah is a better track by him IMO.

i'd agree with this most of the time but tim also lets a few goodies out at much cheaper than current market values. his list is always worth a look IMO.

Wasn't having a go it was a genunie question as I'm not sure I would hold off. It depends on circumstances and everybody is different. If one deal is going sour and that shouldn't stop you entering into lots of others deals which are quite likely to be hassle free.
