  2. I only have walk away lover so I need to check out the other 2 by them.
  3. I can't remember how much John got for the infamous Frank Wilson so was this recent sale of Mellosouls the most a soul record has ever sold for ? is that figure known by people or was it a private sale.

does a quick search realy get you to threads this old ? i've never looked beyond the first couple of pages and never typed a specific 45 into a wants search. I have got to a few random threads via google searches from time to time.

its unlikely mate as this thread is 8 years old............ i've seen a few realy old wants threads resurected lately is there some kind of glitch how do people even find these threads ?
  6. love the al wilson track "help me" also played by soul sam at lifeline the week before.
  7. that example I would class as sweet soul then also on the ballad theme there would be deep soul like this which is quite a bit different in sound but is also slow and also classed as ballads by some people. this is quite a general categorisation but there is a massive difference between sweet and deep in sound and I enjoy both but have far less knowledge on the sweet side of things.
  8. yes i've often wondered about that. I read the small print on the claims form some time ago and came to the conculsion it would be an absolute nightmare if you ever did need to go through the process. And as your friend found out you would probably not get the value you expected to get. Record dealers who do this full time probably have some kind of insurance that covers them for parcels that get lost etc etc. but having said that special delivery does seem very reliable and removes a lot of the risk.
  9. I think what these drunken visitors sometimes don't realise is how most people on the soul scene recognise most other soul people as its a pretty small scene realy. And there are a good few you would not want to get on the wrong side of. Trouble is certainly not a regular thing though in my experience.
  10. also "just let me know" on flip of mary jane is very good and only available on that release you have a PM I recently listed this for sale and still have it.
  11. one last bump on these a couple more sold and shown. still some great stuff up for grabs,
  12. I would expect the person who posted the item has to take up the claim with the postal service assuming they paid for a type of postal service where you can make a claim ? ethically wether he should refund the buyer would be down to what postal servciew the buyer asked or paid for. on expensive sales I always send out special as a matter of cause and luckily i've nopt had any go missing yet.
  13. 3 young kids to entertain all day sunday mean 4am is enough for me on the odd occasion I do get out. the weekends are short enough without writing off sunday completely.
  14. Too right nige i've always found you very welcoming and somebody who has been on the scene as long as you has nothing to prove to anybody. Somebody must have pissed you off for you to go into writing. Sad realy that people have these ideas about what others can and can't do.

I would agree with this Marc. I don't like to silly the silly prices but with some recrods its just a matter of when.

  22. were on the same wavelength now
  23. that was a joke. Didn't the smiley face give the game away. because of a 5 page thread running about colin playing CDs being one of the most actoive threads on here the last few days.
  24. just responding to this part of your comment "would it find its way into an oldies set now" what I mean is if everybody played by the rules its very unlikely you'd hear it in an oldies spot as only 2 people can play it. but in reality up and down the coutry loads of people will be playing it in oldies spots off other formats.
  25. Exactly as I was saying. the only people who have a right to play this are tim, Mr X and colin curtis who is allowed to play it off CD
