  1. thats a ncie double sider above. But I much prefer "baby I need you / i'm thru with you" which I also think is much harder than current sales prices suggest. IMO his rarest record by a long way has to be "my love is gone" on neal but there will be a few in Japan dave i'm sure.
  2. this is a guess but I think there is a cody black is on ram rock ?
  3. currently in rotation Tutima DI300 with yellow face. Titanium strap so nice and light. But it does get superficial scuffs quite easily as its soft. lovely watch gets a lot of positive comments. Well I would say that https://tutima.com/en/extra-image.php?product_id=29&image_selected=308
  4. better check that one out as I love the dee edwards version.
  5. i've missed most of this new stuff but somehow managed to catch that one 45. he has done quite a few other 45s I need to check but I think some may be more funk based ?
  6. was very impressed by his 45 "the world is going up in flames" will be getting this LP
  7. had the barbara hall version for a long time and think its fantastic but last night for the first time I heard the version by ben e king. wow can't believe I missed that brilliant record. other example for me would be johnnie mae matthews "I have no choice" I only heard the black nasty LP version for the first time last year and that also blew me away. thats the great thing about soul music its such a huge topic and you never know it all. There is lways great new music to discover regardless of how much you think you know.
  8. are you related to russ you mention him in every post you make ?
  9. it sold for $800 its on popsike the soundclips are embedded in the link but don't work anymore. brian i've learnt most of what I know about georgia soul from your site so I wasn't trying to win any points
  10. thats a bill wright record unless it came out by both artsists richard marks may have hand a hand in writing it though.
  11. he hasn't made any other deep soul records why would this one be deep ? mid tempo or funky would be my guess........ its amazing this stuff is still turning up as late as this I had no idea about this.
  12. agree with solidsoul as they are boots they shouldn';t be worth anything. it defeats the whole point of rare soul record collecting. if all you want to do is have the track to listen to buy a CD or get an mp3 not point paying a lot for a dodgy boot 45.
  13. 3 items now sold from this list. plenty more good records still available. dylan
  14. John has said all there is to say. Nicer to have on mixine than rip cor IMO as I think its the first label. the rip cor goss through ebay a lot. Not so often the maxine at least not when I watch. sent you a PM
  15. well thats exactly what i've trioed to do avoid the well well known and expensive records and prewhaps nto go for total unknowns but at least thinsg that haven't been hammered.
  16. thats good to think sombodsy else has the same perspective as me.
  17. if in the unlikely event somebody else has the appointments and wants to sell at this price I will pay it...............
  18. i've been active on the UK soul scene for the best part of 15 years and at a push could be considered young. i've DJ'd a grand total of zero times in that 15 years. that tells me a. my records are rubbish. or b. its a closed shop and younger guys need to start a new scene away from the existing one.

buying stuff to sell is indeed to part the game. I do it myself regulary to fund other purchases for my collection. but with the sequence of events we have seen unfold here it doesn't seem right and its not something i'd do. somebody who may have wanted the record has missed out to a person who has seen the opportunity to make a fast buck. Its not as if they had to even find the record its been spoon fed to them. and the darling dears isn't the real jewel in the crown to be had here................
  20. A lot of sense in there steve. the soul scene will certainly be much smaller scene than what it is now. Although events in europe like oslo soul don't rely on just a soul crowd but also attract a healty amount of younger punters just looking for a good night out. you've certainly done more than your bit for giving up and coming and younger DJs a chance. in fact you must know a large % of those who will still be involved in 10-15 years time. I also agree with the part that most people involved are collectors and to a lesser extent also would like to do a bit of DJ'ing. I hadly ever come across anybody who is just a punter. I for one am looking forward to all those cheap records.
  21. a lot of what you are calling sweet soul I would probably be more inclined to call deep soul. things like the anla 45 for example "why did I let you go" and the houserockers "peace of mind" I don't realy think they are sweet. but some good records on that list
  22. when does it stop being x-over and start being modern....
  23. are you buying or selling ? i'm interested in a copy of this.
