"The Andy Edit tune is definitely a summer tune - have they left it too late release-wise?" I hear you Mickey, I gather its been getting floor play already, and with the plays in the Med, summer can stretch till October. with a lot of these tunes, they'll probably only get heard a few times by folks out, unless they buy it of course. would i pay a tenner to have it on vinyl, probably not, but i'm happy to pay a quid, stick it on a Cdr, and roll it out every summer to fresh ears

As some of you will be aware EMS (Essential Modern Soul) had to close its doors earlier in the year due to a server provider issue, losing years of information is the process. And as it seems it is unlikely to return, i would like to bring a bit of what was lost to arguably the other best the soul forum in the internet world. I know this won't be to everyones taste, i understand that, but to those who like a bit of modern, disco, soulful house, ect., it might go someway to fill the gap where EMS is sadly missed. i would ask all those who posted podcasts there to pop them in here as well, along with weekly traxsource charts (Mark, please), soul charts (Gary) so we can help build up a resource for all to see whats going on in the world of modern soul. And anybody else who would like to share a track, whether it be vinyl, CD, or download, that would be great. all the best alan

News: Modernism - Cd Review
interesting thought, even in the eighties i thought "mods" wore parkas, the odd few in mac's. but thats the first time i've seen so many in macs such as those. was this a London style, or national, as i don't remember see many dressed like this in Derby in the eighties. must of passed me by that one.
