  1. Thanks fella's for your input, although no one's offered me one yet Adam - When I said extortionate what I meant was I don't want to pay well over the odds for it (being a tight fisted Yorkie ) Pete - I don't expect to get one cheap. I'm quite prepared to pay the going rate for one, in reasonable condition, which would seem to be £75/£80 ish !
  2. Anyone got one for sale at a not too extortionate price ? Must be VG+, or better !
  3. Some of the punters who graced TOS might take issue with that
  4. Anyone got one for sale? Got to be M/M-
  5. Ok Gene. Don't recognise any of the others, so assume they're no longer on the London scene? You've got my interest now and I'm all ears, so tell us more bout this Tott-en-ham NS night?

He lists them as "re-issues" Don't know what the legal term would be for "re-issue" but he must be sailing close to the wind? Still, don't suppose he'd sell as many if he listem em as boots
  7. Was that a Northern night then Gene, or more of a southern jazz/funk night?

  15. Bugger to dance to though
  16. That's bad news indeed Haven't been to TOTS recently but when I have, in the past, it's always been a top night ! Hope you find a suitable new venue soon.

I'd hardly put Steve G in the underated category. Everyone else I know rates him and he's certainly done the biz whenever I've heard him!
  18. Think that's right Steve. Mine on the yellow label seems really quiet though and I always have to jack up the volume on this. Are they all like this?

Chris, If that's our mutual record dealing friend you're on about, thought it was 6T 5OUL ? I could be wrong of course ?
  20. Ian, If he was having them valued in the course of divorce proceedings I'd have thought that he would have been quite happy with the above outcome
  21. The one you dj'd at Saturday night South Essex Soul Club - Capones

Couldn't agree more Anyone that has to go to dance classes to learn how to dance to Northern, obviously just hasn't got the point have they? Most of us on here, I would imagine, learned to dance by going to to Soul nights/The Youth Club (for us oldies), keeping a low profile at first, watching the other dancers, practicing a bit at home then, when we felt confident enough, venturing onto the floor! Fine tuning then done by watching other dancers and incorporating the bits that you liked to develop your own individual style! To outsiders we probably look as though we're all dancing the same but not so!! Anyone on here ever gone to a dance class? (don't mean practicing moves with fellow soulies in the confines of bedroom, living droom etc.)
  23. No, it doesn't belong to Northern Soul fans but, if it hadn't been for the likes of the people on here, who care passionately about the music and have Kept The Faith, ensuring that there still is a Northern scene, I doubt very much whether they'd have considered making a film today which featured the music/scene etc.!
  24. Might have known you'd like this one Just no accounting for taste is there?
