  1. Jeff Floyd with the pic sleeve last one Ebay sale last October time was around the £180 mark. Always thought it was a little too raw to crossover to the masses. Record Player - a somewhat tougher find and at least £500 the going rate IMHO.
  2. The refunded owner is Paul Mooney - hope he has reported them to the authorities. Paul is one of a handful of label owners in the uk paying the dues and leasing from actual master tapes . You can now count on one hand who does this besides Millbrand - Soul Junction, Sticky, Expansion, and Kent are the immediate ones that spring to mind
  3. Just spotted these non authentic looking titles on Ebay. The seller has a whole host of items on the same logo , dont even look very authentic do they all on same logo . Not even bona fide regular reissues titles .. and look at the selling prices £16.99 ... there s a fool born every minute.... https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260530135313&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  4. 8 Track stereo cartridges are still a bought and acceptable format in the USA market place. Just check Ebay. Over a year back I acquired approx 50 8 tracks amongst a rock / metal collection - they were mostly rock n roll 50s releases . but had a n interesting collection of Motown, Atlantic and Chess releases respectively. Most sold at reasonable prices to. I have no 8 track player to test them , so sold blind but never had any complaints and American buyers left positive responses so they stand the test of time as a product with durability .

  10. [ I've not seen t'other thread, what label and year is it. Its 1977 on Magic Disc LP Hotel Sheet - title track also released on a twelve . Ive spun ' Ill Fly To My Open Arms ' on and off for ten tears to NO dancefloor reaction. Only ever heard one othe rdj play it in last three years Gouch @ Wilton all nighter. It' s one sleeping giant for those with taste . Prices fluctuate madly from £30 up to £175 ( yes honestly ) !! Ive only ever had two copies of the LP in last 20 years , but have had , and sold copies of the 12" title track at least ten times.
  11. Still have a copy of this from last sales list £30 - best version by far !!
  12. Title track also released as a twelve - a different mix and around the same price >
  13. ***(2) 12" singles The Detroit Spinners 'I'll Be Around' (Atlantic / UK / 1970s / M-) *£25* ( This simply HAS to be rare? I've definitely never ever had / seen this before on 12" press and the fact that it's an uncredited white promo tells me that it probably never actually got a commercial release as a 12" at all? Well - the tune itself is absolutely peerless / timeless and the fact that I have it here on a loudly-cut, promo 12" tells me that this is a superb/rare piece - no USA equivalent release exists on 12" press....this much I definitely know..... ) Hi Mark you re spot on re this 12 picked mine up circa 1980 white label - they were in very small quantities , and it never gained any commercial release in quantity. A limited press run to gauge reaction >
  14. Yes it was a real cheapie and not half as good asher better 45 IMHO ' You Sold Me A One Way Ticket ' same label and still cheap cos it aint trendy enough for the cheque book charlies yet
  15. Adam Ive seen it go around £35/ 40 which is ludicrous was always a £3 cheapie until last year - why the price hike ???

  18. Beverley Glen was a label front for alleged local California Mafia connections and ran as a tax loss for other enterprises - hence why Johnny probably never got any royalties

[With regards to Jesse James on Shirley - my biggest mistake / regret ( There s a cue for a thread ) missed on Ebay 18 months back , listed in wrong genre sold for $57 dollars and I forgot to bid despite having it tagged on watch .
  20. And didnt some one buy a Dellarks , ' Job Opening' as a white demo for serious wedge only to find it was a boot
  21. News reports said he had been declared bankrupt , hence the sale of his vinyl - rumours only say it was the house or the vinyl .
  22. Are these buyers mad Pete , just been released from the mental institute to try Ebay out on a trial basis. Beggars belief , but as they say one born every minute - if only the rest of us could get those prices for reissues eh ???
