good post . i quite agree with you its bloody annoying . i thought about doing a list of well known big records that are also rare ,for the buggers that use the term rare in the fashion that you mention ,( am not coming to your club you play that rare shit ) i was going to start off with the del larks and eddie parker but i see godzilla has beaten me to it.

in answer to your question in general no i dont think its right to clash , and as i said some of the established venues tend to run more than one club .i had them in mind when i did my post . the established venue i was thinking about i attended for many years but i dont think the promotor would know me if he fell over me , not that that has anything to do with it , what i was also meaning is that some established venues have started to go down hill for many diferent reasons and (not just competition) the promotors friends dj's at one venue have started publicly telling people they are out of order for not coming so i stopped going completly but thats a diferent matter, anyway its not as simple as deciding ....am i for or against new promotions appearing ?. what i was meaning .....is this..( is the new promotion going to be any diferent from the others ??) if not then who needs another? but i take your point my post is ....was confusing

re warington and surounding towns we have enough events around here as it is mate . WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER !!! burtonwood i understand was a good night and had to close down its open again with new promotors but i heard they are finding it hard thats just one of many around these parts .i jacked my own club in due to the amount of clubs springing up near me i thought f... it i'll give it a rest for a year and may be some of these clubs will have bit the dust .some did but ...f...in hell they just keep coming . if i was you mate i would have a good look at how many soul events are on within 30 miles around here . and i understand there will be two more next month . i think the number of soul events here is around 20 may be more

could we be thinking of the same people tony ? i never seen any of them at any club's only there own . and where dose it say that all the established clubs are all good ? and we must go and keep them going? even if they have declined and no longer cutting it' people here seem to be forgetting these are very hard times all pubs and clubs are feeling it . anyway rather than keep moaning about it i decided to pack it in and shut up . nothing worse than people shouting how we must suport there venue . for me gone are the days i could travell all over the place there aint a lot of money around and and old age is setting in f... hell is it so hard to understand why folks are droping off and being choosy about when and where they go ? its tough at the top lol let them get on with it

yeah but come on most of the established promotors er? i mean venues all tend to be runn by the same people who runn more than one venue and tend to rule the roost in my opinion, so forget blaming others ..i think people are becoming a little bored with them . you dont own me you know said with a peter kay accsent

i received one of my long awaited records today from the usa . value just over the permited £18 your alloed before you get shafted for the customs charge . my record value came to £18 and 2 pence . due to the measly 2 pence i had to pay the customs charge of £11.28 .i would have thought there would be some middle ground but no . has anybody had the same experiance regarding the small amount i was over?, ie 2 pence

think i paid 200 .and its for sale in a week or two

i think its down to what sort of people are going to be at the venue your doing and if your any good you will ether turn them down and say sorry its not for me or you would take a good mix of records in the first place thats right for that venue . ie having the records to do it' what does my head in' is ill informed people that tend to pigion hole dj's
