Aah yes, the "I don't want to hear it if I don't know it " brigade, what makes me laugh about these "experts" is, did they come out of their mothers wombs whistling or singing for say the Tamango,s, Salvadors, Terrible Tom, Kenny Smith, Sandra Phillips, Van Dykes, Soul Twins, Morris Chestnut and on and on, you get my drift, there must have been a time when they heard those records for the 1st time, so why not now. Look no further than the great Bobby Womack set "Home is where the heart is" the whole album recorded at Muscle Shoals, place of many many incredible soul sessions, all of the musicians, rythmn and horn sections are white, I picked this particular set because apart from Womack being on top form (enough for any genuine soul fan surely) the backing is nothing short of breathtaking. Brilliant fresh set, can't remember when I heard 2 tracks alongside each other as good as Morris Miller and The Hunt Brothers, the latter being Sam and Dave, The Soul Twins with a twist of Rance Allan all in one, awesome, special mention also for 7 Nombres, but all in all fantastic set Kev

Yes Roger, both tracks you picked out are as good as anything they put out on 45, its the album ignorance thing isn't it, people buy an album for 1 track maybe and ignore the rest, then get found out when someone plays something else brilliant from it Kev

No Mike, always said about this record, if anyone wants to know what the Muscle Shoals sound is like at its absolute best, then this is it, the rythm section working overtime and the horns, dear me, ben Cauleys bugle solo and Womack at his scorching best, stirs the blood just talking about it Mike Kev
