  1. A few years back I was asked why I was playing Cliff Nobles OLIGS on Atlantic at an ovo night as first release was on VJ by an acquittance so no malice intended (I think) Obviously we went through the local / national release thing but he was still objective. I said if I was to offer you the Ivories on Despenza or Wand which would you want and he said Wand as its so much rarer. He then agreed that both local / national releases are ok to play. We went on to agree that records made deliberately for the northern scene should not be played at an ovo event UNLESS unreleased like Grapevines Barons Of Soul & Eddie Holman. Were not the soul police so who cares what we came up with. Yes I run an ovo event but I attend events without worrying what there policy is. So in my opinion some grapevine are ok but not all.
  2. And there's your answer.
  3. Barons Of Soul?
  4. Jean Chi on mine
  5. Robs old copy was in my box tonight. I’d of played it if you had asked.
  6. Hey Chappers, don’t blame you. Enjoy your DJing and I’ll see you soon.
  7. The background looks like The Brit Nottm but don’t recognise anyone.
  8. Pats auctions don’t end on a specific day like the others. End dates are all over the place so you would have your work cutout to keep up with it.
  9. So sad to hear this. He was a well loved and respected guy and a great character.
  10. I’ll step back and leave it to agentsmith
  11. Well I’ve been putting Tim’s up for a while now and they seem to be well received.
  12. Pics taken seconds before auction end so may be some changes.

  14. Slightly off topic but not and once again without name dropping. Whilst visiting James Bell at his home in Indianapolis (Amazing love - The love of my girl - The funky 16 corners) He took us to meat his mate, lead singer of The Hamilton Movement. He kept his records in a plastic bucket without sleeves. He had one copy left off She’s Gone and that was not for sale. Back to the thread - I did buy Times A Wasting out of the bucket and Nolan Porter - if I could only be sure.
  15. And once again I have to add - what a night. Top tunes making our 1.5 hour drive well worth it.
  16. No bids on the parliaments. Great record.
  17. Pics taken with seconds to go so could be some changes.
  18. Passions - if you see my baby

  20. Don Gardner. Juggy Murray, Rob Thomas & myself.
  21. Without name dropping - Don Gardner took us to Juggy’s flat in New York quite a few years back. Juggy was suffering from Parkinson disease and was in sound mind but physically struggling. obviously I asked about WAYF and he said he had copies in the cupboard next to him. That cupboard remained closed throughout the visit. He said a guy called Jason had been and had 6 copies and Juggy was unaware of the value at the time and it wasn’t happening again. He said he owned 7 labels during his career. He passed away 6 months later and I was told he owned 2 garages on the ground floor with all his memorabilia in. Apparently it all went in skips.
  22. As always, pics taken in last minute so some price changes may of gone through.
  23. Thanks Spook, muck appreciated.
