Alex Brown - I'm not repsonsible (price)
Always wanted the album and only got near twice to buying it but got pipped both times....ah well. Sold my 45 back in 89 after a friend went stateside and came back saying they left a couple of hundred of them behind, so I thought will get another easily enough......and regretted it for years until I got another copy. Always wondered what happened to those he left behind?

Little Bob - I Got Loaded original first press
No concrete evidence but I would plum for the double lines being the first and then picked up by Roulette records for distribution for a second run, as that's the other difference that stands out. Just a thought mind!

Cherished record casualties
Left a copy of Barbara McNair your gonna love my baby on top of the telly, went out to a Sunday afternoon Soul do at Tuskers late 80s and the floor to ceiling balcony window blinds were open. Mid summer.....sun was blazing hot and got back to a Motown ashtray. Trying to flatten it out made me realise it's impossible. I am also on my 6th copy of Bobby Sheen Something new to do as I had a habit of breaking them...don't ask why I just seem to end up cracking them!

The Vals
Flanny yep must have had a memory lapse/ old age brain fart or something...any ways you knew what track I was talking about! Lol Dave
-
The Vals
Thanks for that, i prefer the stocker from a label view but never see many of them about compared to the demo for sale hence the question.

The Vals
Looking for some input as to The Vals "I'm stepping out of the picture" Ascot. Was as wondering what is or considered the rarer either the Promo copy or issue copy. Popsike has more white promos than black issues listed from auction sites, so would it be safe to say the black issue is the rarer and what would be the valuation of both. The books suggests around £200 to £250 but doesn't mention promo or issue....... TIA Dave.

Acetates.....anyone ever tried to clean them?
Cleaned one on a record cleaning machine using soap based cleaning fluid and with its vacuum pickup clean it did pretty good. Tried alcohol, based one on a completely knackered one and it went all hazel and distorted the sound even further. soap based and dried doesn't seem to effect the quality except for the better by the dirt removal IMHO. Happy Christmas All. Dave H

Trans World Sound

Walter, Walkers, Jimmy, Buck Ram?
Buck Ram Platters version went down pretty well in my set at The Cotton Club At the last Soul4real Weekender in Bilbao last October. A great an unusual version. I must admit though that Jimmy Radcliffe's version does me up like a kipper as they say. It is such a great song you would have to be a pretty poor singer to mess it up! Dave H.
