Great Philly sound that never got a U.S. 45 release -

Mary's scheduled followup to "My Guy" was Brenda Holloway's "When I'm Gone" which was withdrawn from release. There are a couple of other tracks (circa 1964) that Smokey wrote that sound like they were written with Mary in mind. Kim Weston's "Looking For The Right Guy" and Carolyn Crawford's "Until You Came Along" would have worked perfectly with Mary.

The flip side of "Soul Over Easy" is a cover of Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed so that 45 is sometime after 1970.

Not sure if JJ is handling the vocals, the label was said to have been owned by James Thorpe and J.J. Barnes

According to "Groovesville U.S.A.", the JT part of JT Rhythm is James Thorpe. This is most likely another release by him -

I'm sure you did- there seems to be a mix up with the delta #'s- According to the Monarch listing I have, #56293 goes to March/ April 1965 not November, 1965 as listed above. There was also a listing for the Magnum release as "late 1966" which is why I posted the survey showing 1965 !
