  1. Yeah- "Love That Girl".
  2. "Sleepless Nights " has been relisted with a starting bid of $2200 and no reserve (!!) . Any takers ??
  3. His Paris "Sleepless Nights" still hasn't sold at $1300 + USD with a few hours to go. Surprised he didn't list his reserve on this one.
  4. Thanks for all the new info- I think it must have been the tape that's in Australia that I had heard about.
  5. I thought I heard this was recently found- thanks for the replies though.
  6. Has anyone else heard about a tape (?) showing up with an alternate version of the above mentioned tune?? I know the version on Soul #35019 and the alternate version that appeared on the U.S. CD "Motown Year By Year 1966". I've heard there's a really clean sounding version (stereo?) with a countdown intro . Does anyone know where this version came from or if it's been released on CD ??? ps- this is not a windup !
  7. They also wrote "The Record Players" which features the full interviews for some of the people they talked and adds more Modern deejays.

The red one was used from 1973-1974.

The green sleeve was first used in the early 70s for ABC releases. Just checked on the 45-sleeves web site and the green sleeve was used from 1974 (#12012) to 1979 (#12469).
  10. Time to change the score- DETROIT IS #1 !

Teddy Pendergrass started out as a drummer and became lead singer of Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes
  12. Here's a picture of the Shelley Fisher label variation. I do know my colors but this one is kind of hard to tell- could be grey, very light green or a dirty white label.
  13. I hate to muddy the water on the Detroit/ Chicago debate but in an interview with Jo Armstead she specifically mentions all the Garland Green tracks being cut in Detroit (Soul Survivor # 5) . Also, in the liner notes to "The Very Best Of Garland Green" on Kent, the tracks "Girl I Love You" and "It Rained...." are also named as Detroit tracks.
  14. You'd have to ask e-bay about that one. The seller probably complained and they removed it to keep him happy.
  15. My copy has almost the same info in the dead wax- ARP UR4M--1788-1-B 334M09 G-LO-U -334M09 X
  16. I don't think e-bay will ever change. I bought a buy it now about a month ago. The next day I received a refund from the seller saying the price was "due to an error in his data base". I contacted e-bay who told me they can't force anyone to sell something but that I should leave negative feedback for the seller. I did and the next day they removed the negative feedback .
  17. The CD versions of the two songs are longer versions than the 45's.
  18. No need to apologize. Thanks for posting !
  19. If you don't end up finding a 45, it's available on 2 CD's- "This Is Northern Soul Volume 1" on Debutante and on "You've Got To Earn It" by the Temptations on the U.S. "Lost And Found " reissues from the late 90's. On the "You've Got To Earn It " CD, the sound is much cleaner sounding.
  20. I'm almost 99.99 % sure that's a boot. Most Diamond promos look like the regular issues with the "promotional copy not for sale" on them. Brown and Koppel mention a white label promo with green lettering as a bootleg
  21. if he did his homework.... why would he start it at $999.99 and then take $300 ? Did anyone ever pay $300 for this ? Such a friendly guy too- very customer service oriented !
  22. You can add "Say Something Nice To Me" by Bobby Kline to the list.
  23. He probably had a few Geraldine Hunts in his trunk too! There's another Flash McKinley single on Flute- "Jealous Girl (Guy) " and "Another Time".
  24. The first two songs on the acetate "I'll Rescue You" and "Millie" were released on Bombay. There's no release # on the label. Guess United wasn't carrying the label at that time.
  25. The original U.S. release is Brunswick #55300. Shouldn't be too hard to find a copy .
