About The Event

Walls of Heartache are trying out another new venue, this time at the Trades Hall Walthamstow, which is an underused Working Mens Club with fantastic sprung wooden dancefloor and very competitive bar.

As this is a big space to fill, but only opens until 12.00pm, we are running this as a free entry event for this first one.

Doors open at 7.00pm, music from 8.00pm - we did have local boy Tony Smith lined up as guest DJ (see fliers) but he unfortunately made the classic middle-aged man blunder of not properly checking with the Mrs, so now can't make it. We have lined up local DJ's and club regulars Curtis Taylor (Dugout Soul Club) and Paul Hardman to join residents Shaun Arnold, Richard Anker and Dave Duplock behind the decks.

The venue is set back on the junction of Hoe Street and Tower Hamlets Road in E17 - it does have a car park but also on street parking.

Hope to see some of you there to enjoy this brilliant venue.

Cheers,

Dave

I know Dave was concerned about the size of the venue as it was going to have a similar atmosphere to the moon but his worries must have been dispelled after about half an hour. The place was full of the clubs members playing bingo and enjoying beer at £2-80 a pint. Did they depart when the music started....NO....they got up on the floor and danced!

The DJ read the situation really well, playing mid tempo soul classics at a sensitive volume..... The room filled with WOH regulars and a fair few that I haven't seen before. The lights were lowered the tunes became more rare the volume increased but the floor stayed full 'til the end. The floor was a pleasure to dance on with not a handbag or drink in sight.

Well done to Dave, Shaun, Richard and the guest DJs.
