I had to go back to school to get a rest after the weekend. Saturday's soulful antics were closely followed for me by a 5:15's performance late Sunday afternoon.

Now with a few minutes spare before marking Year 7 assessments I wanted to thank everyone who supported us on Saturday night. As Dekka says, the place was packed with a real sense of expectancy. And I would like to think that we did not disappoint.

Thanks to the deejays, Steve Lee, Joe Dean, Stewart Richards and Liam Fearnley, (Dekka, Andy Yorkie and myself lol) who helped us break the mould by hitting the decks hard from the outset covering Acid Jazz to Rocksteady to 60's Popcorn, 60's R&B and Soul. It was a real pleasure and honour to have been a part of this.

Thanks to the venue, Jan especially, who made us feel very welcome and kept giving us feedback throughout the night and were quick to book two further dates with us. I wonder why lol?

Thanks to my fellow deejay/promoters Dekka and Andy Yorkie for what they bring to the table not just the turntable. Hugely appreciated. Amongst all the fun and games of promoting and staging an event such as this we still find time to have a laugh and take the pxxs! So thank you my soul brothers.

And finally another thank you to everyone who came and danced and thanked us for doing something different but that they felt was top drawer.

Roll on Saturday June 10th and Saturday August 5th for more soulful antics.

See Y'all

Well i've just about recovered and wow what a night, the Clarence Beat-cluB York absolutely nailed it. The event was packed, Locals, Ska Boys, Soulies and Mods, couldn't have wished for a better inaugral night and needless to say we have been invited back by the club. We have 2 events lined up at the Clarence club so put them in your diary, the dates are June 10th and August 5th. We will look to add more dates later in the year when we get the chance to have a sit down with the club and discuss dates.

Thanks to everyone who came and thanks to everyone for their good wishes and kind praise.

Cheers

Dekka
