The Hollingwood Northern Soul

Looking forward to this one!! This month with have with us the ever popular and a true gent MARTIN STANFORD. Pleasure to have Martin back for a second time at the Hollingwood. Also returning for a second time is the lovely SAL JEFFORD with a box full of her favourite "choons" as she says!! Helped along by STEVE BRIGHT from the RIGHT TRACK SOUL CLUB based at nearby CLAY CROSS we have the ingredients for a great night of Northern Soul.

  Come along early as SAL and STEVE will be kicking off the night at 8.00pm give them your support and encouragement. Hope to see you all Friday. 

MARTIN STANFORD our Guest DJ tomorrow Friday 7th Sept. Always great to hear Martin play, one of the DJ's i personally go to listen to to if he's around our patch, always seems to play something different and interesting and a great guy to talk to. Looking forward to hear what's on his playlist this time. 

Also we have SAL JEFFORD helped by STEVE BRIGHT. I know SAL agonises over her playlist but if the last time she was here is anything to go by then i'm sure she'll have your dancing, good luck lass we're right by your side!!

Lovely to see a decent crowd in here at the Hollingwood, got to thank you all for attending, means alot to us to see you guys supporting our local venue. Just a quick recap then... The night kicked off with our girl Sal Jefford behind the decks playing out some familiar and forgotten oldies helped by Steve Bright warmed up the dancefloor nicely for myself who ripped through an hour of popular tunes along the way paying tribute to a recently departed true soul legend DON GARDNER. Following was our Guest DJ MARTIN STANFORD who started with his tribute to another soul legend ARETHA FRANKLIN...... then carried on with a mix of current favourites, underplayed and oldies from a wide spectrum. Great to hear some stuff not normally played out, keeping it fresh and giving us all a taste of what's out there.. CHEERS MARTIN.!! The night finished off with Graham who played out some storming wax including a couple of my delights Sam Fletcher and .....the Arcades.....Thanks again all and hope to see you down here next month when we have MARK AND LISA MELLORS as our guests....should be interesting!!  Thanks again. Mark n Graham.
