Soul In Rothwell

Hello Soul in Rothwell.

Different Promoter, different DJ's - but same flier? Plagiarism at it's very best. 

I thought you wanted me to carry on this event and venue ? we used the same layout so that people would know that the advert was for soul in Rothwell !!!

No Jon, when you heard that we were going to give up Soul in Rothwell you asked if we would mind if you took over the venue. We did not mind and wished you well as we did not want to do our events there anymore.

When we said we did not intend to go ahead with the November event we had booked you asked if we would mind if you did that date as you knew it would not clash with anything local.  You even asked Mick to be a resident DJ at your event  and he said no as it would not be right and give the impression that we were still a part of it. What you have done is taken one of our old fliers and copied and pasted your details on it. Even calling it Soul in Rothwell - giving the wrong impression - that the event is still on. 

There was no way we would have given you the okay to literally take over Soul In Rothwell when we came out of it - you need to do your own thing Jon.

Can't see many of the old regulars attending, but good luck, it is certainly a good place 

Most of the regulars will be attending and lots have given there support....

Children - Give it a rest - The proof of the pudding etc. - keeping a decent venue alive is more important than ludicrous copyright claims - I'll be flying in on Friday 3rd from Jersey with my usual box of killers - 53 yrs on from my 1st gig in 1970 and 40 miles down the A6 corridor from my initial gigs at the Fantasia in Quorn, Leics. - rest assured as always you'll hear stuff you've never heard before and certainly haven't got along with plenty of top tunes - what it was always about in my opinion. I didn't spend my life travelling the appalling roads of this nation to the Cats/Mecca/ 76 Club / Junction/Torch/ Ritz/Embankment/100 Club/Leeds Griffin and other clubs and venues too many to name for over half a century to be put off by promoter or ex promoter verbals. - that's always gone on.

Give it a go you might be surprised and might just enjoy yourself  - plenty of testimonials over these decades.
