I would think 'Out on the Floor' or 'That Beating Rhythm' would be the best intro record since they both sum up the scene to a T.

This is very hard to think through as some of us have long history's on the scene

so it starts with tunes that forged the begining of my trip

its very hard to choose form so many tunes that shaped my life

i have not included stuff that i listen too and play now these listed i class as northern but i now listen to and play tunes that are not deemed northern by a lot of people

but i will probaly change the list when i can think better its hard to dredge up old memories of tunes.

Thanks Tony. Eula cooper will be in my list eventually, the first record I paid £30 quid for ,,that was my weeks wages in 76

and I snapped it a few hours later. (bummer)
