Guest Bellyfullosoul
Welcome back Dukeries Soul Club!! Well a great night of oldies at one of the best venues out there - Edwinstowe Welfare! Lots of old and rare soul for old and rare people. A really friendly atmos with everyone chatting and sharing talc. Great choice of DJ's kept plenty of rare mixed in with Northern and Motown classics. Been resting a while this club but it soon got going like it had never stopped. There was nearly always more people dancing than not and it all ended too soon. That will be fixed next time with a late license! All the usual faces made up the night and treated us to some great dancing. Best dancer of the night had to be Sue. Straight back from winning the dance competition at Wigan (Stevie's night off eh? ) she really taught us about stomping. At one point she really drew a crowd of admirers! Go girl, you got Soul! Don't worry if you missed her because Pete and Sue get everywhere that's decent! Must cost a fortune in Poly's? Thanks to Sally for being the first to get some talc down! Soon we were laying it down faster than a prozy on piece rate! Billy got down and dirty with a funky chicken, he's now helping the RSPCB with there enquiries. Mary's ass decided to pick a fight with a couple of floor boards. It was a first round knockout. Yeh the floor kept it's title belt!! and Carl did so much spinning I heard some one say "he was a good screw!". I think they meant dancing ooh er. As we met the night air coming out, everyone was still laughing and joking and having a good time. Friendship, togetherness and Soul, thats the Dukeries Soul Club. Don't miss the next one 30th October and every last Friday of the month there after. If your not there you will be somewhere else CC Link to comment
