Just been watching Boba's video post of the Voices singing along to their backing harmonies to Sunday "Ain't Got No Problems"

Got me wondering, I've seen quite a few Alteen releases for sale lately as compared to the Chess release.

Does anybody have any firm info on which is the more rare?

personally, i think chess is the rarer one, based on having seen more alteen copies over the years

The two Alteen releases are priced slightly higher in JM's bible but I'm with you Dave; based simply on observation of sales the Chess release seems the rarer.

However, my Alteen copy is much more pretty and is one of those that managed to avoid the abuse to remain shiny minty yum yum

I've got a Alteen copy, mine is a bit unsightly but plays great, I think the chess release would be rarer....top tune as well.

i had a goodish condition copy and gave that to a freind as a birthday pressie but i got a absolute minter now

Most are beat up copies,lucky enough to get an Ex one.Don't forget the other side chaps .

Saw one go through ebay a few month back on teh Alteen label with "CHESS" written in bold black felt pen right across it.

He clearly had an opinion on which was cheaper

Mine is like that too, had it for a few years now.

I wondered if it was because these were the copies given to radio stations just before it got its national release - an attempt to get the DJ to say the right label name.
