out of interest how many can remember this being played in the seventies

I had never heard it until I came across a bootleg years later. Was it one of those tracks that suffered because it was booted too soon?

Booted after a couple of plays on the strength of "Wash & Wear love" which is a totally different type of sound.

Never had an original-but bought a boot on here last year for £5 as I had heard it out somewhere as well.

A Cleethorpes sound via Rick Scott ?? so may explain why so many knew it at Drax

Highland Room 73/74 Dave Taylor will confirm Im sure....prob 73 pre Wigan...

Bought it as a boot late 70's or very early 80's , always been a great record.

It also appeared on the Kent CD "Masterpieces Of Modern Soul"

This was played at both Blackpool Mecca, Wigan and elsewhere in the early 70's and way before Ian Levine started playing the Gator 45 in '75/76

I've had a couple of copies of the Yummie 45 over the years but only once had the Gator 45. Neither of them seem to surface much nowadays. They are both quality 45's and I guess most copies of both 45's are safe and sound in the better collections.

Quite possibly, I was a regular at the Mecca and Wigan in the early days. I used to have a bad habit of etching my n/name into the deadwax of 45's in those days. I was talking with Guy Hennigan a couple of years ago - he definately has my old copy of the Yummie 45.

guilty as charged bri, one of my old carlton club spins, had 2 copies at the time, sold one to derek greenhoff, 100 quid if i remember rightly
