My Nan Hill died on this day in 1988 so I thought Id do a little tribute to her but only came up with two tracks, Nanny Goat and Theres No One Quite Like Grandma, which would have caused everyone to unsubscribe, so I decided to base the theme around the word Hill as that was her surname except I couldnt come up with enough Hill-based tunes, so I decided it wouldnt be cheating too much if I also included Mountains, as they are just very large hills...yes well anyway, I present to you CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN and I hope you enjoy it. It was also an excuse to use the Nick Nicely track Hilly Fields, an amazing slice of UK psychedelica cut in 1982 would you believe. I remember hearing this on a Mark Radcliffe show in 1995 and instantly forgot the artist and title. I finally found out yesterday while reading this months Mojo magazine. This podcast is a real mixed bag so if you like a bit of R&B, Ska, Rock & Roll, Soul, classic Pop, authentic Doo-Wop and Joe Meek madness, you should be ok.
