September 8, 200519 yr i have been ever present at the Wilton for 5 years or so now and the recent playing of that Y2K stuff leaves me feeling cold. I hate to hear it at the Wilton to be honest. I can hear that kind of soul in my local trendy bar/club. I don't mind it in those type of places but not the Wilton. Just my opinion. Shane link Totally agree Shane, i love to listen to it at the right place/time, not at a rare soul night/nighter
September 8, 200519 yr how can anyone not like MELVIN BROWN & JAMES MATHEWS - LOVE STORMY WEATHER sublime !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 70s at its BEST link its not for the dancefloor though imo. Shane
September 8, 200519 yr its not for the dancefloor though imo. Shane link Some of us really old people with arthritis appreciate the odd slowie

September 8, 200519 yr thats what makes "WILTON" my fave .... you can hear a touch of everything.... RnB isnt my bag ,,,,but i can listen to it ( NOT ALL NIGHT ) but a mix of styles keeps the night fresh
September 8, 200519 yr Some of us really old people with arthritis appreciate the odd slowie link ya not old Alison There are slowies and there are slowies but this one is a SLOWIE! I love mid-tempo best of all but this one hasn't got that edge to kick you round the dancefloor. nice record though but a bit dreamy and floaty for the leather on wood brigade imo. Shane
September 8, 200519 yr They're all sh*t and life would be much better if they didn't exist link You know you dont mean that.
September 8, 200519 yr You know you dont mean that. link i agree with pete on that little list. with the exception of Bobby Reed (which gets a play in my car now and again) the rest are no-go's for me. They are party songs for the stag/hen night (sorry oldies night) brigade. I am a 60s man if pushed but I love the kind of 70s stuff that Andy Whitmore plays these days. Shane
September 8, 200519 yr Are you thinking of the Dynamic Superiors Pete ? link Yeah it is that one Ali. I just found it on a cd, supposedly unreleased stuff...it's not is it?

September 8, 200519 yr Had all the above and 'binned 'em'. They start out as so so records in the first place then reach the new dizzy moribund heights as 'Norvern Modern clazzzzics'. September 8, 200519 yr I've not read all the posts but I think 70s should be in the northern room after all we have to listen to RnB don't we (and that's shite IMO) A few years ago I wouldn't have agreed but I've took my blinkers off and started to listen to various stuff and I now love the 70s/crossover stuff (please don't tell me dad though ) so yes, it should be played

September 8, 200519 yr MANDY you are a born again soulie link I just think that people/dinasours etc should give other sounds a chance - I'm so glad I did.
