April 24, 201213 yr I love this tune, though I know many dont, i first heard it spun at venues like, the ritz and prestwich around the late 9ts, when it was a big, big spin, not sure where it was spun first, late wigan maybe?
April 24, 201213 yr Chalky is probably right. Would it have been played at Mod venues before it found its way to the soul scene. Similar to stuff like - Voodoo Workin' ?
April 24, 201213 yr Sorry but Poke played this at Cleethorpes........Pokes own words! Along with King Moses,Betty Fikes,Willie J and numerous others Edited April 24, 201213 yr by smudgesmith
April 24, 201213 yr Author I remember it in the 90s ,some folk saying its a big Mod record from the 80s?
April 24, 201213 yr Doesn't surprise me it was played earlier though I wouldn't have thought it was deemed good enough for Cleethorpes.
April 24, 201213 yr Author Im surprised it wasnt picked up earlier....what about the claims it being a Mod record that crossed over
April 24, 201213 yr Not popular at all these days, along with Larry Trider, massive at one time now a pariah record. I still like it though.
April 24, 201213 yr Im surprised it wasnt picked up earlier....what about the claims it being a Mod record that crossed over I can't remember anyone playing on the Mod scene in the 80's,so don't think it's a record that crossed over
April 24, 201213 yr Don't see it for sale much of late...4/5 years ago there seemed to be a copy for sale most weeks either on eBay or on SS.
April 24, 201213 yr Sorry but Poke played this at Cleethorpes........Pokes own words! ...I bet he's probably sorry he played it at Cleethorpes, too... :wicked:

April 24, 201213 yr No more can we say Pokes Impeccable spins, oh well suppose even Poke would be allowed one mistake, although it was a big one!! Total pigs sweat gland of a record.
April 24, 201213 yr I love it. Such a haunting tune. Might be overplayed everywhere but as I rarely go out these days it still sounds fresh to me. Unlike that Papa Bear record that bored me the 2nd time I heard it.
Sorry if its been asked before but when was this first spun
