Heard Carl DJing at Penn Bowling Club, Wolverhampton last night and had to put "pen to paper" what a great set of records he played ranging from the Invitations What's wrong with me baby to Billy Woods Let me make you happy, with the likes of the Magnetics I have a girl, Rita and the Tiaras gone with the wind and Larry Clinton she's wanted in three states in between. A fantastic night, hope to hear him again soon.

It comes as no surprise that Carl played a good set, he's been one of the best right from the early days at the Cats & the Chateau in the late 60's. Never heard him play a bad set yet !!

Although the original poster mentions the venue at which he heard Carl Dene play the point of his posting was to sing the praises of the dj and not the venue.

The poster also titles his post Farmer Carl and does not reference the club in his title and does not give the club where Carl appeared that evening a lookback appraisal, therefore i dont believe the post should be in lookbacks.

Carl is a top bloke and a top DJ with great taste.

We go a long way back and had many dealings in the early days.

He's had to deal with serious personal illness recently and it's so good to know he's back behind them decks.

used to hear him over at Burton-on-Trent 76 club on sunday nights had some great tunes and remember he had a record that ive never heard played by anyone else The Cheater sung entiley in French,anyone else remember that one

I see him once a week for a drink, and he always comes up with great stories about the past.
