Soulful Detroit reports that Deon has died. It's a tragedy that he was only 68 years old. I know many promoters would have loved to bring him over for a UK performance so that we could tell him of our appreciation of his superb music. Sadly that will never happen.

So sad to hear about Deon's passing. I had the privilege of meeting him in Chicago quite recently. He was a true gentleman and was extremely forthcoming about his career and his views about a variety of topics. I'll put something together by way of a tribute to him.

Really sad day losing Deon .Tragic that he never made it to the UK and got to see first hand  how much we love his many truly great recordings .Rest in peace Deon Jackson .....
