The Ann Perry instrumental was the side played first at the Cats, Wigan and no doubt The Mecca. This was a time when instrumental was king.

Big for a little while at the Mecca in the early seventies, and I used to play it at the Magnet in 74, off the LP. Heard it played once or twice in Ms at about the same time, but never in the main room prior to the end of 75. Did it get many plays downstairs in the latter days of Wigan?

Was this played, Gerry? I like this original version but I never had it down as a Northern dancer but listening to it again, yeah I can see it in amongst all the other 'pop' tunes played n the scene.
