Good to hear he's getting what's owed to him.

We've heard stories of artists not getting there dues for decades, will this be the start of further lawsuits?

Was just reading this. Unbelievable that he should be homeless and living in a van. Let's hope that this money doesn't go the same way as his last fortune.

True but if Sly were honest with himself, he would admit that really he largely had himself to blame for the way his life turned out, what with all the drugs and erratic behaviour.

Unfortunately this could be the worst thing for him. $5 million can buy a whole lotta drugs!

Glad to hear he's got what he's due. Lets hope it provides comfort and security for the rest of his life.

 

For ages his appeal completely passed me by but listening to him now you can see he was ahead of his time and a really influential musician.

Let's hope he learnt from old mistakes.... some don't tho

However, the jury disagreed with Glenn Stone and Goldstein's claims and returned a $5 million verdict in favor of Sly Stone, with Even St. ordered to pay the Family Stone rocker $2.5 million, Goldstein forced to pay $2.45 million and Glenn Stone $50,000. However, the decision gets murky given Sly Stone's status of a co-owner in Even St. Productions, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2013. A judge will sort out that and other issues when the case returns to court "in a few weeks," Hornberger said.
